Leafs fans get excited easily. Remember Eric Lindros, Jason Allison, Joe Thornton, O'Dog, Joe Niewendyck, Ron Francis, Owen Nolan … just to name a few. They are about as effective as Wendel Clarkson also known as David Clarkson.

Why is nobody talking about signing both Toews & Kane (both UFA's) to lower cap hits and putting them on their 3rd line with a younger, faster skilled winger.

Players should get according to the season and playoffs. Make so much for playing the season and bonus making the playoffs. Each round advancing makes even more and winning the cup makes the biggest payout for players. Until then players like Marner don’t really care. It’s all on what they do in the season

The Leafs should do everything they can to sign Marchand. Marchand has the most playoffs points vs the Leafs next to Gordie Howe.
If Marchand were playing for the Leafs instead of the Panthers, they would likely be in the Stanley Cup Finals.
