Should the Bruins trade for Marco Rossi?
Cannot give the #7 pick…he is very good, but not worth selling the farm…
don't do it!!!
Why would an AAV of 7 million translate to compensation for based on a 12 million dollar figure
I’ve never heard that calculation before for RFA offer sheet compensation
Seeing how bad Sweeney fleeced Guerin in the Brazeau trade….Minny might not be too excited about trading with Boston again. Although, there is a decent trade history between these Don and Billy, so maybe there's a chance. Middlestadt definitely needs to be part of any package going the other way, but he'd be more of a throw-in, and not a play the package is built around. I agree; I just dont' see Boston having the assets to pull this off, unless they start throwing in draft picks; which would be a mistake….especially not anything to do with next year's first rounder
14 milion? Nonsense.
Yes please. I'm a big fan of Rossi who I feel can become a PPG player and boy would he look good as a 2C. However, his contract demands are a bit much for what he's done thus far. EDIT: The Wild aren't interested in a defenseman, because they're pretty set there.
Agreed. I'm putting on my temp Panther's fan hat tomorrow and hoping Marchand gets another cup. Reminds me a little of when Bourque left.
Sweeney doesn't really have a history of giving generous contracts. Anything could change but out of character
He's a valuable player, but I cannot see anyone giving him an offer sheet that puts them over that $12 mil threshold and 4 firsts.
I am not sure the WILD are looking to get Middlestadt back, so, I am not sure what kind of trade they'd be open to.
Personally, I'd like to avoid sending Poitras and Lohrei (Definitely like to see Lohrei stay) out to Minn.
I think the price is too high for Rossi. I would not recommend that the Bruins do the trade.
Seems like a high price tag for a guy you also need to commit 7×7 to.?
Not sure he moves the needle enough to go all in on. Better to spend on Ehlers or Marner and give up no assets???maybe? Appreciate the content to keep us thinking about the future.
I think Rossi would look good for the Bruins, but….. what would they have to give up for him? The price short term and long term could be prohibitive as the Bruins need to hold onto draft picks and restock their prospect pool. Also I think Mason Lohrei should be off the table in trade talks unless the return is quite good. I can see him as a puck advancing building block for the Bruins' defense for the future. In addition, 7 years for 49 million? Rossi may be worth this but can the Bruins afford this ? Well, we'll see how trade talks proceed. Sweeney and the Bruins need to be careful and cautious here.
Watched a highlite reel of Rossi .. seems to have a good nose around the net, good wrist shot from the slot and face-off circles. Don't know about his face-off prowess. I would say he's worth a hard look.
dont know enough about him but hope hes big fast and gritty
Minus 17 mittlestadt needs to go plus?? I would take rossi 100% but not sure guerin would take what we have
We need all the Marcos we can get
I'd say no. Cost to acquire him too prohibitive. Additionally, size matters when it comes to the centre position.
What about Necas or Nicholas Hague as potential targets?
Both a year away from UFA status.
Not for giving up Poit and Big Red!!
Depends, if they put the first round pick on the table for him… not a great idea in my opinion.
I hope they don't trade Lohrei. So much potential. He has vision in the offensive zone so coach him up defensively. You may be over valuing Rossi because it's still a salary cap league. Wild wouldn't be paying 7 million and get back good draft selections? Never know.
Not another middle six center 😭😭
