#1 PKer in the NHL is impressive.
I'd go after Ekblad for Quinn's long term D partner, if he's available. Go whole hog on having the best D in the league.

For the last decade the Canucks defense has been afwul. We have finally, finally rebuilt the defense to where it is competent. We traded Horvat to get Hronek. We traded Miller to get Pettersson. We made these trades because the Canucks defense sucked and the Canucks could not win games because they let in more goals than they scored.
So it annoys me to no end when the hosts keep suggesting over and over again that we should trade our young d-core for scoring help. It's such an idiotic idea.
These young defencemen have yet to hit their prime and they will be cost controlled for years. RD defencement are the hardest position to fill and are thus the most valuable position in the league. So suggesting that we trade young cost controlled players Willander or Mancinin is mind boggling. Elias Pettersson looks like he will be a beast in the mold of Zadorov, so suggesting we trade him is stupid.
Forwards are pretty easy to acquire as UFAs or for a package of draft picks/prospects.
You build a team out from goal. So get a good goalie, get a good defense, and then fill in the forward positions. Don't sacrifice the future to get a past-their-prime veteran who would only stay with the team for a few years,
