Funny how the players get paid millions , but Bennett falls like a 7 year old and the referee thinks that ok . Bennett knew exactly what he was doing.
I seen how the Oilers made the Panthers strategy of hard hitting fell apart as the Oilers did not panic but kept on keeping on – hitting back, passing, exploiting every weakness the Panther's revealed, quick returns keeping the game going, keeping up the pressure until they drained the Panthers in overtime. It was clearly beginning to show the panic setting in in the third period on the Panthers as they were beginning to lose momentum and the Oilers exploited that weakness – enough – to cause the Panther defense to panic enough to shelve the puck over the glass in the overtime period. That's how you can win games by keeping pace to eventually force panic, and that's when they, the Oilers do it with their power play. The writings on the wall – that it's about playing the game – not for revenge – but for the passion of winning.
Can't say enough about how good this channel is. It isn’t just some random guy on youtube giving his personal opinions and casually talking over the highlights, it's actually incredible insight that I don't catch at all when I watch the games, it's even better than the intermission programming. Makes the series twice as fun to watch when I have insight into florida strategy, oiler counter-strategy, etc bc i can say "how will the other team counter it THIS game?" Great stuff

Is it just me or I don't see EDM being tactical at all? Hockey is already pure chaos but EDM has a way to even bring it more chaotic. It feels they have no systems, it's just a well oiled machine ready to take you over a frightening ride. I watched all their playoff game and I swear it's just pure chaos to me. Bring the cup home boi.
Yeah Florida all that work means nothing when you lose the game. So in hindsight it doesn’t matter if Florida was up 3-1. They lost. Game 2 is going to even better for Edmonton let’s go

Kapanen stepped up huge for this Game 1 of the final, moving fast, going deep of the forecheck and since we have no Hyman you can see he's taking the mentality as well as Kane and Podkolzin to just finish every check you see and battle for the puck off of that
Unfortunately, the refs made a really bad call claiming no goalie interference that should’ve been called off and Panthers would’ve never made it to overtime.. but then again it’s all about entertainment right and we all entertained in overtime

The Bennett fake fall into the goalie was genius. I think all players in the league will start using that one. If I was on the Oilers that game, I would be tripping all over fallen into the goalie right and left as the puck’s coming down playing the same tune because you can’t call it one way and not the other.

From what I saw in this video, the 2 Oilers players made no attempt to direct Bennett into Skinner. He stumbled into Skinner himself by tripping over the Oiler’s players. It should not be a goal.

Although it is hard to fault the Panthers, it is very easy to fault Darnell Nurse, who had a terrible game. Brett Kulak wasn't much better. Arvidsson continues his ultra-work-ethic play and Walman has vastly improved over the last 10 games. Bad call by the ref on the Bennett interference. That was robbery.
Walman was an absolute warrior for the oilers last night. best defensive addition since Ekholm for sure
Not a fan of either team just enjoying the obviously two best teams playing hard. Would like less of the vitriol from fans, but both teams left if all on the ice and what more could you ask.

McDavid draws the triple team because they know he’s so good he can score if he gets the chance that draws the open man the passes unbelievable perfect… this gives one of the open man the chance to score and usually they do

i want edmonton to win, happy they did – but i think they got outplayed ever so slightly this game and if it wasnt for a very fortuitous mistake on floridas part – i think florida comes out on top game 1.

An important part of that OT goal. Florida DID not kill penalties aggressive all game. They were getting cooked onb the seam pass the first couple powerplays so they sold out to be aggressive and let those passes happen still because they were already happening anyway. Problem is, The Oilers absolutely will make you pay for that, especially since they had experience with Dallas doing it.

I'd say Bob was the MVP of the game even though they lost. The Oilers outshot them 46 to 32 with a lot of high quality scoring chances. He's the only reason the game was this close, if it was a different goalie, they would've been blown out

Those passes by mcdavid, and perry to set up those go tying and winning goals were all things of beauty. Just awesome to see. Oilers got greasy to pull this one back and win. Much more fun to see greasy plays that score than just straight gooning which seems to be what florida does.
I really wish Bennett would resign with the Panthers just so we don't have to listen to a hockey analyst repeat "he's gonna get paid in the offseason 🤡🤡🤡" everytime he sneezes on the ice
