  1. Marner and Ehlers score goals at the same pace. 27 on average per season.

I've been on the Ehlers and Boeser train for awhile. Together they'll score more points than Marner or at least be around the same total but you got versatility to create more scoring depth throughout your lineup.

  2. As to the two talking about sam Bennett's points you realise his highest point season was 51 no where near the 60-70 you are both talking about he would get in toronto. That was this past year in Florida. So you would need two sam bennetts to make up for marners point production, and that is for the same cost as marners 1 contract, and you would also have to find those two bennetts 17:30 minutes per game each to get to the 102 points 1 marner did.

  3. Let's be honest all the players we want them to sign they probably won't ekblad be a great fit for toronto but if they couldn't get him I'd pay dimiyry orlov they need another defenseman to play big minutes be physical kill pentalys score a few important goals in a few important games I would focus on a few adjustments on the back end especially if tanev rielly or Ekman Larson hurt any of them guys especially come play off time leave gaps

  4. I would forget ehlers, he's got a glass body always hurt. Go after Mason Mactavish from Anaheim. Some of the guys have said Boesner , I would not disagree with that.

  5. Most very good players sign with the existing team, a couple will go for the highest dollar amount a low tax State. Very good players rarely look at Canada.

  6. Need to keep manner, and the team need to protect him, and other stars, give him the room he needs, Wayne Gretzky wouldn't score one goal, without protection. Why is it his fault. Mathews was worse

  7. With 16 gone, you can nab 2 players. If they can unload 44, that would help, too. 34 25 88 is your top line. A reduced 91 frees up more room. They coukd possibly ice a good team.

  8. The Hawks and the Hurricanes will both be pursuing Marner. If the Hawks miss out on Marner they will turn to Ehlers. Both the Hawks and the Canes have a lot of cap space to work with.

  9. Leafs need to bring someone else in to excite the fans after losing Marner but at a fraction of the price

  10. i would keep marner and taveras and trade mathews and nylander {no moss) and riley is no good.

  11. there is word Dave Quinn and Joe Sacco are in the process of joining Mike Sullivan’s staff in Manhattan from Elliotte Friedman

  12. yea, sure, there's only one team in the nhl, the perennial finalist leafs, that every top UFA in lined up to sign with. especially elite skill players want to get abused by leaf 'blue collar' fans who are still bitter that don cherry didn't draft nick ritchey

  13. Just FYI. There's going to be reports linking every high end free agent to the leafs.

Ehlers is NOT what the leafs need. If they get him ill be furious. He should make around 8.5M on a long term deal. That's too much they need DOGS not ehlers. They need grit with the skill. Obviously Bennett would be the perfect fit. Jamie benn would be a good fit I believe. They need size heart and grit.

  14. Size, toughness, and a WINNING attitude, paramount, in next Fall's starting Leafs roster!
