Larry Murphy, Phil Kessel, Tyler Bozak, Nazem Kadri all run our of town and would later win cups. Now we have Connor Brown, Zach Hyman and Kaspari Kapanen all ex Leafs in the SCF. Bozak, Brown, Hyman and Kadri were on the Leafs at the same time. Poor asset management IS a huge problem,. We keep spending our first round draft picks for bad players who do nothing and leave. Nick Foligno/ Scott Laughton / David Clarkson/ Brandon Carlo and many others
Let's just be honest they're all signed for too much. Oh Matthew's had 1 69 goal season then was always hurt still go's to 4-Nations and even sits out a game like why did he even go unreal should of been resting for his team.
I'm not a fan of the other Canadian teams either, I wanted the Panthers to win last year. For whatever reason though, this year I just can't get behind the Panthers! Go Oil!

Living near Detroit, I became a Wings fan and watched them hoist four Stanley Cups. And the Leafs? Nothing! It must suck to be a fan.

Real speak…Shanahan/Dubas went the route of skilled young players….that seemed the way the league was heading…refs calling more penalties that used to limit such players (holding/sticks to hands/etc..) But, as we've seen the playoffs still allow old school hockey vs regular season…so said players aren't as effective….and when Dubas caved to Willie's holdout back in 2018 he then opened the door for such behaviour moving forward…Marner getting bank in 2019….Sometimes things don't work out…Dubas et al should've realized the Score Four weren't the perfect playoff mixture….Willie especially has been god awful defensively in his tenure…should've flipped him at that first hold out for picks…used that cap for True #1 D-man…I was saying should've gone after Pietrangelo back in 2020…I feel your pain Bill…Keep the Passion 👍
it strikes me as odd that i did not a word about the captain who was (injured or not) absolutely abysmal. dries up like a prune come playoff time. and this for the highest paid player in the league. lets assume that this player did what was expected and had 6 or 7 goals in these playoffs, would the leafs be golfing now. not sure who between tavaras and matthews is the slowest skater, but its close. until this guy attains his potential (at 13 mil/yr) when it counts most, the leafs are destined to find the same fate!
