Le Lightning est-il toujours un concurrent de la tasse après une autre sortie précoce?

Tampa a des difficultés dans les séries éliminatoires depuis qu’il a fait la finale pour une troisième année consécutive en 2022. 1. I think the Lightning are solid, no need to shake things up in a drastic way. The defensive improvements made this season were excellent. They simply got hit with significant injuries at the worst time. I'm excited to see what Bjorkstrand can do next year. Curious if Lalonde returns to Tampa with Blashill headed to Chicago. Definitely see a bridge type deal for Goncalves and think there is a good possibility that Gourde stays. GO BOLTS!

  2. Tampa needs a couple of troublemakers at the 6'0 200 lb level. They're a bit too soft for the playoffs currently.

  3. As a Tampa fan we definitely lack physicality especially on defense I love lilleberg but we need at least one more guy who can add physicality instead of Perbix. We also need a new puck moving d for the power play because raddysh pissed me off big time everytime he went on to do absolutely nothing. Tampa really needs to add d so I think a perfect fit would be moving Issac Howard for a young promising defensman and if it’s one of korchinski or nemec I’d be so happy

  4. This was the best shot they were gonna get, and they got blown out of the water of the cats. Its over.

  5. Personally I think the salary cap has played havoc with Tampa. I think they've tried to do their best to be a contending team but haven't quite done it as good as they did during the cup years. They've had to trade away their depth players and haven't found the right replacements yet. I think they're one good line away from the final again and that can easily happen anytime.

  6. Only thing we are missing is that 3rd line we had a few years back. Gourde-Goodrow-Coleman.
Got Gourde now need the other 2 replacements this offszn. Hopefully we keep bjorkstrand.

  7. The Bolts should not retain Perbix. He wasn’t just their worst defensemen, he was a complete liability and costed them many games.

As a Bolts fan I’m cautiously optimistic about next year and not much else. All signs point to next year being a solid year for this group, the same group is coming back and Geekie should be improving into a starter at the very least. They don’t have much cap but they’ve got enough that they could make some moves this offseason or in a trade at any point before next trade deadline.

The Atlantic should be getting a lot more open as well, Toronto is going to be a very weird team, Florida will be dealing with the woes of three cup runs, and there’s no telling what other teams below Tampa does. Ottawa is interesting and so is Montreal but neither seem like division threats. Tampa could very well win the division next year.

Still though I’m not confident in Tampa success until Kucherov shows he can return to his 2021 playoff form. Maybe all Tampa needs is avoiding Florida in the first round and having them be knocked out by a team who’s got less baggage with them, maybe they need to grind through and beat the Cats. Regardless the goal of next year is to make it out of the Atlantic.

  8. Highest scoring team in the league. Well coached . Vasi is normally great. They're still very good.

  9. They're still a contender, the playoff format cost us 2 great matchups in round 1 again with the avs n bolts both being eliminated. If they can find a trade partner for kind of a 1 for 1 deal maybe they do something but otherwise i think its more of the few young guys stepping up

  10. The Bolts, 3 seasons removed from a Stanley Cup final appearance, may not have as much pressure to win a Stanley Cup as some of the Canadian teams have bots are faced with an off-season, no shorter than either of the previous two after yet another early playoff exit.

  11. Tampa still has so much star power, but they lost a ton of depth over the years, as in their role players aren't as good due to cap constraints. The team is getting older after another year, but if they get bounced in the first round again, then I would expect Cooper to get fired…

  12. The reason the Lightning have not won a cup since 2021 is purely because they haven't replaced the Coleman-Gourde-Goodrow line. That was the best shutdown line I've ever watched in decades of watching this team, and there hasn't been a better PK, killing time at the end of games or gritty goal producing line that they've put together since. Too much gets made of the top 6, or in Toronto's case, the "core four", when it's really the lower lines you build that make the difference in cup runs. So if they want to keep the window open, they need to build another shutdown third or fourth line.

  13. Penguins fan here, no surprise to see Guentzel as the bolts leading scorer in the playoffs. Guentzel always brought his A game in the playoffs for the Pens during his time with them.

  14. As a Tampa fan im happy to see this team just be competitive. We got the two cups with four finals appearances. We have no first round picks for a while and will likely be terrible in about 5 years. Might as well run it back

  15. they need to get tougher. the panthers were pushing them around. they need a solid enforcer. that can score goals.

  16. I worry about Tampa becoming the penguins too, but as hard as it was to watch stammer go i understand that it's exactly what we're trying to avoid, hopefully the cap goes up as much as they're saying so we can bring in some speed and youth and muscle i feel that the bolts get pushed around a little too easy, well time to have a coupla drinks, and see a coupla things, way she goes boys fukn way she goes.

  17. As a lightning fan im thinking the biggest issue is our Defense. Our forwards can score but we have 2 lines of D that give up gross breakaways or leave guys wide open. We can't ask Vasi, no matter how good he plays, to do everything for us. The focus should be Defense and suring up the 3rd/4th lines if possible

  18. They are still good but their glory days are probably over. I would say they are still a contender, but not good enough to win it, compared to other teams like the panthers or oilers.

  19. They might have to trade some of their core players soon as if this happens a couple more times, a retool might be in order.

  20. Dynasties need major retool after their main guy hit 31/32. Crosby hasn't won a series since that age, Toews didn't either and neither did Kopitar. It's really tough.

  21. If Bjorkstrand didnt get injured we might be having a totally different discussion. That injury killed their trade deadline and he was exactly the kind of player they were missing against Florida. The Bolts will be back and fine next season because signing Guentzel to replace a declining Stammer extended their window considerably.
