Let me know your thoughts on the latest rumblings around the 2025 draft
You don’t need to sign and trade
They can trade Marner’s signing rights prior to July 1st
Marner can sign 8 years with any team prior to July 1st if that happens
After July 1st 7 year max with all 32 teams
Misa – Schaefer – Martone – Desnoyers – Hagens
NYI could trade 1st for 2nd & Dickinson
or
NYI could trade Barzal for 4th and have Schaefer & Hagens & save 7.5 million on the cap
Not a great draft no generational talent

Watch Kyle Davidson and the Hawks. Last draft, they came very close to snagging Levshunov and Demidov. With no big free agents in sight, I wouldn't be surprised Kyle using prospects and his draft capital to move up and nab Misa. Especially since there's no Celebrini or Bedard in this draft.

Utah Receives: Mailloux, 16th, 17th and Joshua Roy
Montreal Recieves: 4th overall and Matias Maccelli

Utah gets 2 draft picks not far from where you originally were drafting so probably already have good scouting in that range and I think a perfect fit in Mailloux to jump into that 3rd pair right side and has shown a high offensive ceiling. Joshua Roy has shown flashes in the NHL but hasn't been able to grab a consistent spot, he should be able to make the jump next year, if you want to sub him for Dach you can but honestly I think Roy atleast has shown the ability to play games, but unfortunately I dont see the long term fit in Montreal but the potential is definitely still there.
Montreal gets quality over quantity with a already stacked pool as well as a player who is on Utahs trade block and had a disaster year but is not far off a 57 point season and is still young.
Big nothingburger… the sharks arent gonna trade Dickenson and #2 to the NYI for Schaefer… the sharks arent gonna trade down to 3 for the #25 pick from Chicago and a 2nd round pick.
The sharks rumors all come from one guy saying "i could see the sharks trading up" and it being taken as "the sharks are gonna make a trade"

There are always rumors of big trades at the draft, just there to be but a few, but im giving it the benefit of the doubt this year since two of the Top 5 picks are teams that jumped up, so you never know
Sharks aren’t desperate, I think the Hawks need to move up. So it’s more Hawks, it’s just rumors.

Is he supposed to go dark until something happens and then report, or can we all just have fun speculating?
