The big dumb smile I got at that allusion toward Murashov almost made me forget about the cringe of their current goalie situation. J1Q, is Murashov an NHL-er next season? (and I don't mean a ten-games, cup-of-coffee, kind of player).
I hope nobody ever puts Crosby and McDavid in the same breath again except to say "McDavid will never be or could be the player that Sidney Crosby was, is, and has ever achieved."
We're all very much aware of your love affair with the Panthers DK, but F this dislikable team already. However, you see the glaring difference between a team built to be successful in the modern era of the nhl, and an offensively rich team which are unfortunately, almost never successful in the whistle swallowing nhl playoffs. There's a lot to learn from this.

There was about a year period where every trade Rutherford made was a hit. Those players helped the Penguins win two cups.
Those Penguin teams also had a lot of players they drafted. This Florida team only has four players they drafed and a bunch of free agents and guys they stole from Buffalo, Calgary, and Carolina.

I just hope they give Sergei Murashov a long look this year. There's something about the guy, DK. He shows some serious swagger, and even more serious agility on the ice. I really think that with the right coach, he could be a franchise goaltender.
Best moment in all of sports. Hurts some when is not the penguins but just a strong run is a positive season. Not the same as the Steelers where anything but a super bowl is a bust. Now what so the penguins do from here????

the two Oilers wins were by one goal in OT, the 4 Panthers wins were complete blowouts. Not sure if the Oilers goalie just sucks in the clutch or what but Florida is just unreal. Not a Marchand fan but the rest of the team is just phenomenal. Well deserved. Canada has some kind of curse and won't see a Cup for awhile.

McDavid and Draisaitl led the entire field in points (2025 playoffs). Nothing they can do when FLA rolls 3 legitimate scoring lines
Not to forget that Matt Cullen (also obviously a part of those championship teams) has spent time behind the Penguins' own bench recently, so many in the room aren't foreign to that either!
