1. I've been here for over a year. Never really even disagreed with bowman about not getting one at the deadline. But i hate the fanbase so much at this point i need stu gone or the backup. I can't see the dumbest people on earth continually blame him for everything. Probably will turn out worse but needs to be done.

  2. Get rid of skinner, that's what oiler should do, how much more years of Connor and Leon should we waste. Skinner as been pull so much times in the playoff out of the net in the last two seasons. Where will we be if Picard wasn't available in round one against kings. Skinner is not the answer and everyone knows it, for context how much game did Florida pull Bob over the last 3 Stanley Cup playoffs games. Get someone like that, someone who we can trust.

  3. McDavid has made it known to Management that the Oilers need better goaltending.

  4. Sounds like you guys are waiting for Skinner to mature into a #1 goalie. Sounds good for him but McDavid isn't going to wait for this to happen. Skinner is still learning and you guys are admitting to this journey. Get rid of Nurse, give Bouchard say 5 mil. on a 3 or 4 yr contract and you have a bit of money to get a great goalie. BUT wait, lets not get into a Jack Campbell situation again. And again you don't have to spend all the cap money and leave your selves open to another offer sheet situation.

  5. Just a little observation, Skinner's stick paddle is too low, meaning his stick is too small which really opens up his 5 hole and opens up the top corners. Strange that the goalie coacj has not picked up on that.

  6. The only move that would make any sense would be a significant upgrade to an elite goaltender. There's a fair argument that none of the goalies being mentioned at the moment are upgrades at all. Every one of them is a gamble, whether it's inconsistent play, lack of playoff experience, age, injury history, etc. Why would you pay a higher price, give up roster players and/or draft picks for a gamble? If the Oilers can't make a big move for a top guy, it makes way more sense to 'gamble' on Skinner. Regardless of uninformed fans, he's been a huge part of the team playing in back-to-back finals. That playing experience alone money or trades can't buy. And, goalies tend to bloom later than skaters; he's only 26 and has a heck of a lot of potential. He's clearly shown periods of brilliance. He's also got a tremendous ability mentally to bounce back, and to handle the pressure of a spotlight market. If they choose to make a move, despite what many fans and media seem to think, the Oliers are not limited to the table scraps that are being suggested. There are definitely possibilities for a big goaltending move. With all that said, goaltending is not the reason they lost last year or this year. Contrary to Bowman's statement, defence should be the primary focus for upgrading; they also need another elite skill forward, and a legitimate top winger.

  7. Stew Skin is one of the worst goaltenders in NHL playoff history just look up the stats Edmonton needs to upgrade!

  8. As an aside, someone needs to teach McDavid how to play football and put him on the Elks… 0-3…sheesh

  9. Jeff Jackson de-graded this team, refused to sign Broberg and Holloway, was NOT on Holland… and didn’t sign Foegle,, all these guys young speed and BIG, and Mcloud too was a penalty killer, young, fast… and Jackson went with age and small…. The penalty killing absolutely sucked because the guys remaining were over taxed/used… which caused all these injuries… the players were over used and fatigue was a factor, plus this group had no grit, so teams were taking advantage physically, like running Our Oilers Goalies and star players…. Dump Nurse somehow… he doesn’t defend, and his go to break out play is rimming the puck….

  10. Stu and pickard they are good but we need the Best goalie or better goalie that can do finish line. Stu lover its been two consecutive year proved us he is not the guy.

  11. ..if Connor and Leon worked for 10 million ea…Swaymans. your net minder…goalies are usually a reflection of the teams defensive core…so..Skinner behind a better defense…who knows…

  12. The fact that pickards name keeps coming up then maybe stu goes and we know we have a bit of a safety net at the highest level of competition. So if we do get a stu replacement and it doesn’t pan out fully we have picks and then the following year look at it again like the jack Campbell situation. Did it hurt us yes but we still managed to get two cup finals. Easier said than done but we gotta take a risk at some point and learn from our previous mistakes. We need a goalie that’s more consistent I love stu but he’s kinda Mike smith 2.0 who was great especially when our d was laughable but letting in stinkers and being seemingly more inconsistent than other top teams goalies minus Dallas… Also if we don’t get better in goal who knows mcdavid might not be impressed.. We do need to fix it tho. Having Roddy as a third isn’t the worst thing ever as well as a potential new back up so there’s options. I stay trade stu to a smaller market once we find a guy and Dustin gets replaced and go from there. We don’t need Savoie and or Noah right now they are incredible traded peices so maybe one goes and clearly rv but we need money for bouch and such so it’s not easy but has to been done. Sick of this goalie talk

  13. To Stu’s defense, the first two goals in Game 6 started with Evan Bouchard turnovers, and that’s where the game began to slip. Blaming Skinner for those goals is missing the point. You can’t hang your goalie out to dry on breakdowns like that and expect miracles. And on that second goal, Bouchard didn’t even try to clear Lundell’s screen — just stood there like Sleeping Beauty, watching from the side. You can’t take a nap in front of your own net during the Stanley Cup Final. That’s not defense — that’s a liability.
