The reason we are losing Marner for nothing….is because of people like you. It's like none of you have ever worked for a toxic environment.
Not one apology has been given to the leafs after these playoffs…they were literally the only team that came even close to finishing off the panthers. If you want this team to win…you have to change your attitude, this city has a toxic relationship with this hockey team. It has to change.
John Tavares is humble and deserves alot of respect for taking such a massive discount to play for Toronto. He should be Captain as he is a true leader!
That's… cheap. I only hope he can keep it up after 35, and also… improve in the playoffs. Other than that, and the fact the Leafs haven't won jack with him, it's an amazing deal.
its all fun and games until they punish all the teams who did this with cap recapture penalties. They better win before Papa Bettman spanks the teams who used this. Its even more egregious now knowing it'll be outlawed. We are getting punished for this. The only question is when and how hard.

Amazing deal for the leafs. Tavares making more than 10 mil in a top minutes role? 1st or 2nd round exit. Tavares in a depth role at under 5 million? That’s the making of a contender. Leafs fans should be praising this man into next week. Hasn’t brought a cup yet but he’s desperate to and he left MILLIONS on the table to chase it for Toronto.

See, this is a guy who WANTS to be in Toronto. We need players like this. He's willing to take less so he can have a shot at the title, so he can stay in his home. Guys like Marner are more interested in the money than anything else… as if they weren't making more than enough already.
We will see. All Leafs must check , fight , and score.

He will make much more in endorsements. He will be guaranteed employment with MLSE after retirement. Great move on his part and the organization. I’m hoping other players on the team and in the league follow with his example and realize that winning here would be much better than in Florida or arguably anywhere else for that matter.
