With the Cap going up what about 30 million over the next 3 years ish with the value on this contract eventually make the current price irrelevant? Is sub 4 million the old sub 2 million? Guess we'll see.

I'm excited about Trent signing. We have him for his entire prime of his career. I watched Boston a lot and hes a balanced player. 3.5 seems a little high for 8 years. But I'm not gonna be mad an extra 750k-1.25 million if hes 15-20goals a year and tough which what I think he can be.

The other proverbial elephant's 🐘 in the room is our band aid defense. How come we don't have a true quality #3 2nd pairing right shot defenseman? We have a platoon of fringe players vying for that position. Jake Walman i know he is LHD shot who plays on the right side mainly,Ty Emberson,Troy Stecher & Josh Brown. Pathetic. 😢 Our whole right side of this roster is absolutely the other Achilles heel. David Staples did a recent update & he had Adam Henrique penciled in as our first line right wing playing beside McDavid. This team management is the worst problem. Then goaltending coach. A good goalie coach helps his goalies get better but not with this club. IT is time to get quality players not cheap quantity. Start cleaning house get rid of 2 of those right shot defenseman and try to trade for someone like Brandon Carlo who is rumored to be on trading block again which is puzzling as to why Treliving would do that. Time to trade the aging veterans like the 35 year old Henrique and either the 35 year old expensive Ekholm goes or Walman one has to go. It's about age, speed, effectiveness & efficiency especially in terms of cap space. This is the worst managed team I have been so frustrated I think that I should be like that I give a rats ass anymore what happens with cluster chuck of a franchise. Please Daryl Katz let Harrison take over or sell the team because it's obvious that you don't know quality hockey managers. Bob Nicholson Jeff Jackson Peter Chiarelli Ken Holland & now Bowman has to fix this crap. 😢
I don’t mind the Fredric deal but if it was $3 million a year it would have been better. It’s just this year that we need as much cap space as we can get. Bouchard while he’s been great offensively, should sign a 2 $8 million bridge deal. Cap will go up in two years, he’ll make double the amount of money he was and then if he continues to clean up his defensive game, pay the man. The Nurse chatter is interesting because you have Ekholm, Walman and Kulak for your three left side defensemen. Even keeping 2 million of his cap and trading him would still give $7 million in cap space. Giving Conner Brown a 4 year deal would be ok if it was 2 million a year
I know that this is going to be challenged but if we trade Nurse won't that make our defense even softer & possibly slower? The other teams will push our defense around without someone like Darnell back there. Too many big bodied players who won't take the body is a recipe for failure imo. Because who are they going to replace him with all the skill set that he has? He is after all 6 to 7 years younger than Ekholm. Walman isn't a number one or two pairing defender imo.

Fredrick has potential. Brown should test free agency to see if his play has made him a value contract. Agree that the goalie market is not great. Unless there is an upgrade it should be wait and see time. Still think Carter Hart will be in Oiler colors. Thanks for the update

Frederic has never been on my radar, with his play in Boston. And I can't justify that contract with what he showed in the playoffs.
