Mitch will be awful for Vegas except for games 1 through 3 in the first round….then he wilk shrink away as usual. Vegas wont win a cup with Mitch.
Regardless if Marner leaves we ain't losing him for nothing. Ppl wake up we are saving a boatload of money. I mean look at the money the league saved by signing JT to 4.35M a year for four years. That's insane. And if Marner walks we save 10.93M and he wants 14M or More no now we have enough to sign knies. Just let him walk call up a couple guys from the Marlies.
Feels like another 2020 moment … except at least for the 2020 draft they still have guys from that draft year on the marlies that might play in the NHL.

i thought it was great television.. especially when the panel talked over the announcement, and you ended up not hearing what the panel was saying, and you couldnt hear what bill daly was saying. just a bunch of mumbeling noises. fantastic television.

Vegas is definitely a team that would do it. They could even do an eight year deal with deffrered salary. Big number, lower cap like that.
MM sign & trade doesn't make a lot of sense to me. He's reported to be only signing for 4 years instead of 8 so that's against it. Vegas could easily trade the players reportedly going the other way for more assets in a few days. I understand Vegas wanting to get a leg up on other teams but why at such a high cost? I'll be glad when all of this foolishness is finished so we can continue to boo Marner on any returns instead of respecting him agreeing to the sign & trade.
Won't know for a few years how these picks will work out but the Leafs need to steal some top scouts from some of the top teams who have had successful history at the draft.

It would make some sense for Vegas to part ways with some assets for Marner’s rights… They’d had to clear cap anyway to get a deal done since they only at about 5.6 mil right now…
I’d love to see the Leafs add Roy and maybe even a Barbashev to the forward core (since that would clear enough space for VGK to sign Marner)… the Leafs have the cap to add these guys and Vegas needs to offload them anyway

Steve, what I love so much about Brad Treeliving's philosophy on DRAFTING SIZE FOR LEAFS PLAYERS is that it's the opposite of Kyle Dubas's! Dubas had an irritating habit of picking players that were undersized. Many of the Leaf's Defensemen in the Dubas era were skilled yes, BUT SIZE-WISE??? I call them SMURFS. You CANNOT WIN IN THE PLAYOFFS WITH SMURF'S ON D ! Brad Treeliving has drafted a great group of prospects here! P.S. We now know the rumour about a sign and trade of Marner to Vegas for Nick Roy and someone else! Perhaps Nic Hague!!

Hopkins is likely to be the 1C for Kingston and will get used to playing with Jacob Battaglia, who had a whopping 40 Goals in 68 games as a draft plus one. I would put the over/under at 85 points for Hopkins this year

I never understand why teams make trades for UFAs when they can wait a day and get them for free.. Especially if they trade away good players or high assets and know they have a very good chance of signing that player anyway.
