Simply put, there is a massive gap between the top three goalies in the NHL, and everyone else. After Bobrovsky, Shesterkin, and Vasilevski, the talent pool gets shallow. It's not just the Oilers looking at Florida and thinking "we need better goaltending." It's pretty much 25-27 other teams thinking the exact same thing.
Wasting 10 years of mcdavid while in his prime is unacceptable. Leads the league almost every year, but not for mcdavid Edmonton would be bottom 5 and will be once he leaves next year.
Edmonton organization owes McDavid and the fans an apology for wasting 10 years of a McDavid era.

Why are they going after the goalies ? The defencemen need to help him out !! The rules need to be enforced no matter what team or circumstance. Ref's are supposed to be neutral and it is really obvious that they have their team picked out.

It's not unheard of that a second year player tends to have a off year just look at how he played last year compared to this. Now look at McDavid he wasn't as dominant as he normally is so should we get rid of him? We know what Stuart has in him and can bring to the team but the toss them out after one bad year. I mean, we still got to a freaking cup out of the total league, we were one of two still standing, and that says a lot about the gold pending both of them!

I was a goalie so watching Skinner I see a guy who is not a starting goalie. He is too inconsistent and that's what differentiates between a starter and a back up.Edmonton currently has two back up goalies.Bobravsky is a starter,and proves it with 2 cups.A team can't win a championship if they can't have confidence in their goalie, wondering when he will give up that bad goal.The Oilers won their cups because they knew Fuhr or Ranford would stand on their heads to help them win.They gave the team confidence.

Instead of obsessing and focusing on goaltending, focus on improving the blueline. It is simply not good enough to win a Stanley Cup. As good as Florida is, Edmonton gave up too many grade-A scoring chances, and that is on the defence not the goalies.
Skinner needs a top notch Sports psychologist, he has the talent, the problem is between his ears.
It's crazy to me to think there's something fundamentally wrong with a team that managed to make it all the way to the final two years in a row.
Just get rid of Nurse and Bouchard. Problem solved.
