any word if NHL will investigate Panthers for cap circumvention. At least do an inquiry to ensure they are playing by the rules.

Truthfully rangers fans just are salty that they are so ass and want to blame miller for their bad culture and horrible coaching. They did get a great return but Miller is also a unique and highly talented blue liner who helps the canes today instead of in 4 years.
Possibly the worst contract in NHL, miller worth 4.5 to 6 at very most

Canes looking at their $20+ mil cap space and saying to themselves “damn we gotta spend it or it’s gonna be useless.” Expect they offer $9+ to Ehlers tomorrow.
He cleans up some parts of his game and gets fired up… no doubt he gets formidable, regardless of NY fans' frustration. His athletic ability is great, can get up and down the rink like crazy. It's a good gamble to take that he'll improve and/or just get back to when he was playing crisp D. The contract seems tough for me but again, if he gets back or improves a level, then it ages very well. Question/unknown factor- game IQ.
Miller shows flashes but has hands of stone on a good day. You will cringe at the amount of time he has a miscue, misfire or mishandles the puck. It's not coaching and motivation. On the flip side, Drury again waits far too long to deal a player who obviously wasn't living up to potential for whatever reason. Why would anyone be excited about a draft pick haul for a team that can't develop talent and just trades most of their high picks anyway…Drury is an abysmal failure.
George Steinbrenner said it best:' I don't mind paying for superstars, it's when paying for just 'good players' that sucks". (Not verbatim but close). 🤷🤷

I think that Miller will be great on Carolina. That being said, I think the Rangers got the better of this deal in addition to the cap space. If you want to really understand this, the Rangers got Gavrikov, Morrow and a #1 and a #2 for Miller at basically the same cap cost!!!

Canes flip a top end prospect, a 1st and a 2nd for a defensemen. I'm in shock, they are giving up some vital assets that they need to acquire extremely important offensive talent. Also they overpaid Stankoven who hasn't got out of the single digit range on goals scored.
