Success is never guaranteed but if the move makes sense, I'm good with it. The Oilers need better and younger wingers more than another centerman. O'Reilly will likely be a good player someday and I hate to see him go but he probably wouldn't crack the lineup this upcoming season and the Oilers need NHL ready wingers now. Considering his pedigree and motivation to play in Edmonton, you're not getting him for nothing. I like the move and look forward to seeing how it's going to pan out.

Yes Skinner has been inconsistent but now with a new goalie coach coming in, could make a difference. Everyone is talking about getting a new goalie yet Skinner and Pickard took them to the SCF two years in a row. And how did the top three vezina candidates do in Bucky, Kuemper and Vasilevskiy do? Oh right, bounced out the playoffs in the first and second round. Skinner will have a good year this year with a new coach coming in so let's hope this is the year for the oil.

Savoie is a better fit with Draisaitl and Howard with Mcdavid. Savoie will go to the harder areas, Howard is more of a perimeter shooter which will drive Draisaitl crazy.
I mean he is super talented, but all first round picks are. It's a lottery ticket with any prospect. Tampa has a history of being tough negotiators the first contract and the last contract of a guys career. Look at Stamkos.

Slowly but surely, they are actually trying to gear up for another run. This kid and Mangiapane are good pickups. Letting Perry the " Cooler" go, probably smart as well. He's bad luck in finals even if he plays well.
