There was no reason to sign lankinen for that money and term.
The Indian guy literally knows nothing about hockey
Can't believe that the GARDEN GNOME is going to get $6m for 6 years…..
Does Demmer's contract include a lifetime supply of Sammy Salo-endorsed bubble wrap?!
He gets a NMC after the most injury-prone season he’s ever had lol
no move is useless for a goalie, would you rather not play or move? laughable 😂😂
Unbelievable. After last season the plan is to run it back minus Miller and expect different results? This team keeps reminding me how much time i waste caring.
Boeser amd garland are great deals. 8.5 is too much for Demko if im being honest. Still overall a good day
Love that they kept players that want to stay here. And brought in the most east vancouver guy ever, who won a memorial cup with the giants.
Wild that people from vancouver don't support our own. Sad I mean. Really sad.
Only thing more stupid than no move Demco extension.. Aquillinni extends Ruthless and Alvin the chipmunk. 😢
Nmc doesnt matter if he gets injured thats LTIR we can spend and if he falls off he can be a good backup so its whatever if hes healthy he is a top 5 goalie in the league
Canucks go big this season on embracing chaos and the unknown. You want to limit the number of unknowns that can derail your team, not increase them. That Demko contract can turn into a boat anchor out of the gate for the next three seasons and there's no salary cap to address any other massive holes in the roster. It feels a bit like the signing of Nurse in Edmonton, unless Demko has a Vezina finalist season.
13 million is fine for both goaltenders let the complainers, complain.
Ltir 💦👖
I don't see anyway to justify the Demko deal. He's played 43% of all regular season games the last 3 years. Hes made of glass and we just gave him 8.5Mil and a nmc.
Fast forward to November 2025: in other news, Demko has been injured and is expected to be out for 12 weeks or more. 😂
I’m not sure how I feel about all these moves , I thought it was pretty obvious this team needed change but we bring back everyone lol. Should not be paying your goalies 13 mill combined while still missing a second line Center. I think it’s a waste to have Demko and Lankinen share the net when they’re both starters , think you pick one and have Silovs backup the other at a cheaper salary
When I heard Demko was signed, all I thought was (🙏) the management must know something that we don't, but 13 million per year on our goalie tandem alone 😲
Extensions are great. But let’s all focus on petey again. Cause this will define our season I beleive
When did Rick start sounding exactly like Don Cherry
Any PuckPedia experts out there? Curious why Boeser's deal shows years 2 & 3 as two-way, but his AHL salary is identical to his NHL salary. Isn't the whole point of a two-way contract to reduce pay in the minors? Or is this just a mislabel? Functionally looks like a one-way to me
He'll play less than 100 games in those three years. Great job.
Sp we signed a bunch of guys that cant even get us to the playoffs longterm so team ownership is saying were going to suck for years 😂😂😂
WOW YIPEEEEE colour me surprised the canucks are THE SAME TEAM AS LAST SEASON tyhey did not improve anywhere they just are the same stagnant bunch with a disgruntled captain that dose not want to be here and no real way to compete even if they make the playoffs it will not be pretty so get used to lots of the same o same o
Honestly, until 5M+ is off the books for EOL after the end of this year and next year, this team won’t be max potential. Major difference paying a mid winger 7M in BB and a #1 winger at 12M+.
Some great IR cap space there.
I would never want to wish anything bad on a hockey player, but Demko’s health really worries me. He has not proven in the last few years that he can stay healthy, and I am fearing that he is going to be like Cory Schneider in his days with NJ…
Big mistake to extend Demko's contract. He is too prone to injuries,
TD 50, KL 32
No Moves can be waived, he could be moved:)
A lot of games last season there was less than 10 shots on net midway through the game. This team is built around defence and goalies but it will be extremely painful to watch 60mins
Rick: "Agent" "good job" "cannot move demko" – and repeat for 3 minutes 😐
My understanding is that the nature of Demko's injury is that he can never get back to 100%. Is that not correct?
It's a great contract and Rick's over reacting for nothing 🙄
