I did think it was fishy Reaves got traded a couple days after talking about Marner in the media and taking his side

I new something was already happening man during the Ott series when Marner told the reporter that if his wife were to go in labor right during the game he would leave to attend because his family is #1. His team is also his family. I just thought he was sticking it to the team because it was unnecessary to say something like that…not only that who in the NHL would get his wife pregnent come playoff time. It was irresponsible of him. I new he was leaving when he said that…. Anyway I also hated in game 3 against florida when the game was tied he let a cross crease goal in. You have to see the replay . Marner gave the guy the goal. In playoffs its very atypical to see something like that man. I was yelling when I saw the replay…very bad!

I couldn't count how many times Marner would skate right by Matthews and Tavares when they scored. You can see it coming. No question, he has talent, but man, he brought his pissy spoiled attitude from the OHL to the NHL. Im sure it wore thin in the dressing room
New Marner was a trash player only looking out for number one. Leafs need to stack up on 20 and 30 goal scorers. Have a scoring 4th line . Stop signing contracts with no trade clauses. Florida only has one player who scores more than 30 goals. five that score 20+ Toronto had one last year. If you forecheck Toronto's first line they have no scoring and that is how Panthers beat Toronto. Was the same with Edmonton.
Lol i keep saying it…i find it amazing how the 2 guys we have from arizona of all places have more loyalty to the leafs than the suposed local hero…seems like more and more reports are coming out about marner’s attitude/play during the playoffs and if he did play with one foot in and one foot out then any1 who encouraged it should be shown out the door…also kinda makes sense how every1 re-signing with the leafs keep saying how they love being a leaf and wouldnt go anywhere else…kinda like a diss to marner

He's a big part of our team and has been a big part of our team. Unfortunately, that's kind of the nature of the business. People come and go and I don't know, he has the right to make his own decision. Obviously, we all love him very much and like I said, he's an amazing person and an amazing teammate.

I doubt very much that Reeves was traded because he sided with Marner. He was already in the minors and not in the Leafs' future plans. Treliving wanted his salary off the books and when the opportunity presented itself, Reeves was traded.
I'm liking what Treliving is doing; he doesn't give the players everything they want to the detriment of the team, and if the 2 sides can't come to terms he gets rid of them. Now if he can rebuild the pipeline and stop trading away top end picks and prospects we'll be all set for years to come.

I think the Reeves trade was already in the works. Brad knew how useless he was. And if one of your players is giving another advice on where to play the next season that speaks volumes on how awful Reeves and Marner are as teammates. I hope Reeves enjoys playing in the minors all season
