  1. of course Vancouver Trades away 1 good Goalie they had in years…. they will regret this for sure. Demko will be hurt again after christmas break, possibly even before that and they willl be pushed to over play Lankinnen. very disappointing

  2. I would get rid of Demko. Silov would of been cheaper to sign. Use the 3 or 4 million left over to sign Suter or more forwards.

  3. I think this makes sense for both teams. Vancouver gets a pick and what will likely be an okay Ahl journeyman type player to help abbotsford with depth while the pens get insurance for the backup goaltending job incase Blomqvist doesn’t play well and win the job as Blomqvist is waivers exempt.

  4. Silovs has upside. Has NHL playoff experience too. He's def on the come up. Good luck to him.

  5. I really wanted to see a Lankinen/Silovs duo in Vancouver. But once they signed Demko(which I still don't fully agree with), trading Arty was a foregone conclusion. Thanks so much, Arty! All the best!

  6. as a trois-rivieres lion fan, i am a big silov fan! first player to make it to the nhl in our franchise history!

  7. Chase will be lucky to get 15 points a season playing for Abbotsford. Silovs quickly became my favorite goalie in his Vancouver playoff run, then watching him lead Abbotsford to the Calder cup this year! Way to go arty you deserve playing in the NHL and Vancouver couldn't do that .

  8. These are the kinds of videos i show people when they say that Bettmam is forcing Canadian teams to lose/stacks the deck against them.

  9. Fitz will never make a worse draft pick than Chase Stillman. I seriously doubt he ever cracks the top 6 of an AHL club. Fitz owes every single Devils fan a personal apology for Stillman at 29.

  10. Canucks are my team, but as usual the havent learned to get guys with heart and grit instead of fancy flowers and swedish accents.

  11. I see people upset with the return, to me it’s far better than what you could have gotten in a few months when he is undoubtedly put on waivers, highly highly doubt he would have cleared luckily Pittsburg wanted him enough to pay for him and not just wait. With Demko and Lankinen both having multi-year deals left, made no sense to lose him for nothing, and who knows if he’s an NHL goalie yet, this could be a depth forward and a pick for a guy who may never end up being anything. Unfortunate because he was a loved player, but gotta look big picture, and as soon as the Demko deal went through, he wasn’t a big picture player for the Canucks, just part of the business

  12. Awful asset management by the Canucks. They should have at least held onto him and see how demko was before the nmc kicked in next year. They didn’t have to call up silovs if lankinen or demko got injured there are other options. Stillman is basically a bust already. I’m praying he can at least be a middle/bottom 6 forward in the nhl.

  13. What the heck is wrong with canucks management keep silovs get rid of broken down Demko…..this is why we suck

  14. I dont know why anyone doesnt see the value in Stillman. This kid is only 22, was a first round pick. Can fight, has grit, and the type of player who could grow in Abby under Malholtra.
    Blais was valued less…

  15. Hoping Silovs gets a fair chance with the Pens and that he takes it. Betting on Demko staying healthy isn't something I'd do, but I'm no NHL General Manager…

  16. Also wish I got out to more Abby games. Living close to the Events Center I watched my fair share of Giants games. I would have kept Silovs and traded Demko. I still feel Silovs could have been a #1 goalie in Canucks in the future. Oh well, I guess the Canucks are still in win now mode with a mediocre team.

  17. Silovs has proven one thing at the NHL level, that he can step it up big time in the playoffs. This is the type of goaltending the Pens want and have had in the past in Barrasso, Fleury and Murray. Canucks will probably not get that from Lankinen/Demko.

  18. If you want to be a playoff team, you need players that can show up during the playoff.
Canucks just traded one, and and a fan's favorite one…
    Sad news to me.

  19. If Demko/Lankinen has any hiccups, management should not be left off the hook for this one.

  20. When the Marlies won the AHL championship I was dying to see Garret Sparks in action for the big club. They made room for him and he basically sucked. I can see why the Canucks moved him when they have two proven goaltenders – that is a pretty big chunk of change though for 1 goalie who is always injured and another who is good but maybe not worth that price.

  21. The guy is only 24 years old and has already managed to be the MVP of the World Championship and the AHL. He still has 10–15 years to play. I hope the Penguins make use of his potential.

  22. You don't get that kind of lovable acrobat character often. It's too bad his numbers sucked when he was given the chance at the NHL level, reg season. I can't say the rest of the team in front of him was laser focused, though, either. Good luck, Artie MVP!
