The only conclusion I can draw is that the Sabres rushed to move JJ before an offer sheet came in and they had to prove they just didn’t want to pay him. There was no need to rush to a trade that wasn’t max value since you had his rights for 4 years so long as you match any offer. And max value isn’t Utahs 5th best D man and a grinder. You would’ve and should’ve gotten more if you were willing to pay up and be patient.
I also hate the precedent. If you want out of Buffalo, just be worthy of a payday and ask.
It’s not about money, this owner has paid everyone on the team, Skinner 72 million, Eichel 80, Dahlin 88 million…Peterka just wants out…Power 64 mill, Tage 50 million, Cozens 49 mill etc. so stupid to say miney

OMG always with the obsession of either soft or tiny players??..we need size and muscle and grit for this franchise to not go into another ice age for the next 14 years..small and soft guys like Rossi or Pettersson will never help the real issue..our division is by far the most physical in the league and thats why every year we get hammered out eventually..in hitting 5 of the top 8 teams are from the Atlantic : Florida (#1), Boston (#3), Ottawa (#4), Montreal (#7) and Toronto (#8) ..should we continue to hide from this issue? or finally address it head on?

Adams may be the worst GM in the league, but at least he isn't as bad as the guys at WGR. Imagine if they were at the controls. Show us you're a casual hockey fan without stating it, why don't you. If Rossi was as good as everyone says he is the Wild wouldn't be trying their best to trade him. I get Rossi wants big money but the Wild have the space for it if they thought he was worth it
I enjoy Joe's work a lot, but don't agree here. Rossi is small, weak defensively, and an RFA demanding a long-term contract. The team needs to be bigger and tougher with better defense, not smaller and weaker defensively with an eight-year lock-in and high salary. Kesserling and Doan are a much better return all things told.
Ruff has something to do with the roster mix. Finally , after having what he had last season. He's seeing the holes and wants them addressed. Im sure JJ was tired with being asked to play defense from Ruff 😅

You think Dobson was a better option than kesselring because 2 years ago he had 70 points? Where do you get these ideas from? Why would we add another offensive d man who was a -16 last year and had 39 points over a 29 point guy who was a +4?

With doan and kesselring plus the timmins for clifton trade we have only lost 11 goals. Why do you keep saying we have to replace peterkas goals? If we dont replace them then we were 12th in goals for. Thats 4 goals worse than Edmonton and 9 more than florida. Why are you so obsessed with goals when we get plenty but can't stop goals. This is such nonsense

Scoring hasn't been the problem for years. The problem is they've been 1 of the softest teams in the league since Looch crushed Miller.
