  1. As I listen to you go over each team's lineups in this series of videos, I find myself thinking about FLA. I don't think about a comparison with the FLA depth chart, I just wonder if what is important is how the Panthers play. On paper a team might look to be as good or better than FLA, but then when you consider their relentless pressure they bring, you gotta wonder if that is the most important factor.

  2. I REALLY want the Sens to show that last season wasn't a fluke and they are finally ready to compete again, we have good draft picks, trades and free agents to be the elites.
Also since we don't have our first round pick this year… tanking is off the table.

  3. I am hoping for a strong Ottawa Sens year. Making it to the 2nd round. Taking out Toronto in the 1st round. Or Tampa Bay. Or find themselves in the Metro as a wild card and taking out everyone there.

  4. With that almost $4.3M I cap space, I’m hoping we save it for any waiver pickups/towards Bath’s extension. Dudes in line for a big raise and if we can put up at least $8M for him at extension negotiations, hopefully that can be enough to keep him around for what he’s helped build/satisfy enough the big raise/keep him for trying to depart for more elsewhere. Sens success these next two seasons will be imperative to keeping him around past 2027. Funny I write all of this up, I’ve been campaigning for him to be used as a trade chip piece for a bigger name for the past few seasons.

  5. It’s between the habs, lightning and sens for that final spot in the Atlantic. Might have all 3 make it again if the metro shots the bed again

  6. If the Sens were ever going to make a jump into the top 3 this would be the year. Outside of the Florida teams it's a very middling division especially if the Leafs come out of the gate struggling after losing their best player. I'd expect Tampa to take a step back due to age aswell.

  7. I think sens are done signing, we have a comfortable cushion to sit on with 4 mil so bringing up players to cover injuries shouldn't be an issue like it was last year. the team feels really good on paper, and should hopefully have over 100 points this regular sesaon!

  8. They should trade Kadri to the Sens for Cozens and a prospect. Can you image the damage Tzachuk and Kadri could do. They may challenge the Panthers (0f they get bigger D-men).

  9. Merilainen cannot be the backup yet. Ullmark’s contract is for 4 years. If Leevi is a backup to a guy that will play 60-65 games (as long as his back and rest of him are healthy), Leevi might regress as he waits. Put him in Belleville and let him play about the same amount of games but in the AHL. However, every 5, 6, or 7 games, bring him up to play a game and giving Ullmark a rest. Then send him back down to Belleville. Sogaard will never start a game but will play if the starter gets hurt or the other team is lighting up the starter. In 2 years, then have him as a backup and learn from Ullmark and Ullmark’s games move down to 50-55 games. In his last year 42 for Ullmark and 42 for Leevi. Then Leevi will take over the reigns full time.

  10. LOL sens. All these sens fans are so clueless with this lack luster hope. They are a bottom feeder, dumpster fire of an organization and a terrible "hockey" team 😂😂

  11. Go sens go! Really looking forward to this year. Our young guys are gonna take another step and are a mauled very very well. Spence is also a sleeper.

  12. Looks solid. Let’s not forget they were one point behind the champs in the regular season. All they need is for the core to step up, and I think they will having tasted the playoffs.

  13. Sens are one of those very unpredictable teams.Tkachuk has value beyond pts but he does need to produce better with an 8 mil contract.Batherson continues to be a MINUS player you cannot be a contender when your top players are a minus.
IMO the reason WHY Ottawa has some success is that there bottom lines do well they have several plus players but their top lines seem to struggle when matched up versus other top lines.Chabot is just good but one guy does not make a team.

  14. It's tough
    You have
NJ,Carolina,Washington who will make it out Metro
    And
    Toronto,Florida,Tampa Atlantic
    Leaving 2 wildcards for
Detroit,Ottawa,NYR,Philly,Montreal,Columbus I say Ottawa makes it 7th in east.

  15. I run into Shane Pinto’s dad at Bagel Doctor West on Franklin Avenue. I can’t wait to tell him THG said, “I like Pinto…”

  16. I am really excited for this year. As for Kleven, What a stud. His D-man skills reminds me so much about Marc Methot's style. Stay at home D-man, Then you have Spence on the right? There is no such thing as a 3rd pairing in Ottawa Lol.

  17. It will be a definite wait and see. Rangers may bounce back… Montreal is better than last year…. Go Sens!

  18. Given Ottawa was only one point away from top 3 in the Atlantic, I think they’re more than capable of moving up into even the top 2. Their moves weren’t big, but Staios has been playing Chess, not Checkers, if everyone continues to develop – this is very close to a contender, and might even be one now.

  19. Teams still lacking someone with a scoring touch to play with Timmy. I do like the depth however and perhaps if someone gets injured a call up from the minors can make an impact.

  20. I think they're done as the GM wants cap flexibility for emergency purposes. I personally want them to go after a RHD ala Rasmus Andersson to pair up with Sandman as this d corp is still not physical enough.

  21. If jensen isnt back for the start of the season from surgery, i think we'll get a good look at a sanderson/spence pairing. Spence got alot of points in sheltered minutes in LA, and i think paired with sanderson(who, despite his point totals, is a defense first defenceman who was asked by the team to work on his offence), could become a very effective pair with sanderson making up for spence's defensive woes. It could also be a little window into what a future sanderson/yakemchuk pair could look like. Giving spence a shot with sanderson would also give the sens the chance maybe shelter Zub some, because it seems his injuries may be catching up with him somewhat, so a slighlty reduced role may benefit him greatly. I wouldnt write any of this in stone, but i do think the coaching staff should look at these combinations and try them out. I do have a hard time seeing Spence as an effective third pair dman, which is why i think playing him up the lineup might make more sense, while i think jensen could still be very good in that role. Glad we re-signed matinpalo, as he showed hes got what it takes to be a good NHL 3rd pair dman, and having him as our 7th is a pretty nice luxury. I think the sens have every chance to go deeper this year, health permitting, we just need to see their commitment to playing the right way continue, and to more effectively turn that good play into dangerous offence.

  22. Isn’t Eller the former Mtl center that got absolutely smoked by Gryba in the first round Sens/Habs match up from a few years back? It was a devastating but clean hit, so the refs gave Gryba a charging penalty because, well, …. Habs.

  23. The fact that the sens fourth line had all Stanley cup champions on it says a lot about their depth. Think about that

  24. I think they would if they were in the Metro. I still can't imagine them above Florida, Tampa and Toronto. I think they are still better than Montreal. First wild card spot or 3rd in the Atlantic if one of those 3 has injuries.

  25. I totally agree that Carter Yakemchuk could well make Ottawa have an excess defenceman pretty early on. His season slumped last year with a particularly weak Hitmen team, though, so I'm really hoping he makes that jump to the NHL. Great video as always, buddy 🙂
