In the Philadelphia days Connie Mack turned the A's over 3 or 4 times. He would build dynasty teams and when they got too expensive he would sell them off. Charlie Finley wanted to tear down the A's after the dynasty of the 70s. The commissioner at the time was Bowie Kuhn who blocked Finley. That was back in the days when the commissioner did what was best for baseball and not just the owners. Brodie is spot on as far as Athletics' developing players. They do regenerate well and are never down for very long. This time might be different. They'll get to Vegas and find out people on the strip don't have time to see a ballgame, unless you have a slot machine at their seat.
Not as long as John Fisher is in charge.
The A’s are just waiting for the Lockout and the salary cap
I think Fisher is trying to emulate the former owner of the LA Clippers, Donald Sterling.
The continued silence of Tony Clark truly concerns & sickens me…
Fisher will spend as soon as he gets out of Commiefornia. The taxes and expenses doing business in that state leave little incentive to expand.
Nope! As long as fisher is the owner they’ll continue to spend the bare minimum. When the earthquake built that new stadium fisher never invested into the team. This will not be any different
This is what im worried about in vegas but maybe fans will travel for other team and a vacation and make up the low As fan attendance. (If they keep playing cheap ball)
