Cant give a guy 5 to 6 mil if it's only 40 or less.
I think 4×4.5M is a perfect contract for Stolarz and the Leafs. 3.67M and 4.5M for a tandem is not all that rich. 8.17M is fair to be paying those guys.
Stolarz can't stay healthy and Woll's puck-handling is atrocious.

Agree completely with Darius . But on the flip side.. doesn’t the extension mostly come down to the numbers ? Part of managing the roster is thinking of the players as tokens with fluctuating values. Let’s assume you can resign Stolarz to a less expensive deal today than at the end of the year . There is almost zero downside to placing a bet on this guy at this point.

I don't think Stollarz going down made any difference of how the Panthers beat us. It was the forward group. Particularly, MARNER was our #1 reason for losing the last 9 years.

Keep Stolarz with Woll. Both keep getting hurt at the wrong time. The cost is not that much at this time.
Stolarz going out 100% changed the series against Florida Darius . If Stolarz didn’t get hurt , game 3 leafs win . Woll let in a few awful goals and leads took it too overtime still. Woll was cold going in as he had not played in few weeks . Leafs beat Florida in 6 if Stolarz doesn’t get hurt in that series

i havent checked the best goalies in the last ten games of the season but Woll in the playoffs had an .886 save percentage, tying him with Calvin Pickard. He was 13th among goalies who played 300 minutes or more in the playoffs. He had a 3.56 GAA.
That was 23rd among the 27 NHL goalies who played minutes in the playoffs last year.
He was arguably one of the worst goalies in the playoffs.
Stolarz had the second best GAA in the playoffs behind Fred Andersen.
These guys have zero credibility they just talk what if what if what if – just fuckin take a break during the off season and shut up
I wouldn’t rush to extend Mr Stolarz right now. I would want to see how he plays at the beginning of the season. I think Coach Berube will play Mr Stolarz to see how he does. Then Treliving should possibly extend him at the trade deadline 2026. Joseph Woll still needs work.
You need two strong goalies. If they trade any of these goalies it would just be a huge mistake. Attitude and mindset is huge. These 2 have a great mindset.
Stolartz will get about 4 or 5 million per season which will probably mean the end of Woll with the Leafs. They will probably look for a backup under 1 million.
If the Leafs trade a goalies it won't be Woll, it'll be one of their blue chip prospects. It'll be a huge mistake if the Leafs get cheap and let Woll go, just look what happened in the playoffs, had Hildaby been the backup we would have been crushed a lot sooner than we were when Woll took over, and let's not forget, he came in cold and unexpected, whichyes, is what backups do, but in the playoffs against the Panthers??

With so few prospects between the pipes Stolarz should be a priority signing. He exudes a calm in net that gives his team confidence and gets in the heads of opponents. Sign him. Be done with it.

Leafs trade Stolarz, Rielly, Kampf and a 3rd for Oilers, Evan Bouchard, Nugent Hopkins, and Skinner. If the Oilers win the Cup, Leafs get a 1st.

Stolarz should be offered the exact same contract as Woll. Not a penny more. If he doesn’t take it then he can ride the bench this year and play 20 to 25 games.

Joe Woll two postseasons ago had trouble staying healthy but did an admirable job in relief of Ilya Samsonov in game four of that conference quarterfinal and won each of the next two games (the last two having been starts). Last postseason went very differently, with Woll having allowed not more than two goals in game four or six of the Leafs’ conference semifinal but in each of the other games, having allowed at least three goals, including multiple ugly ones. Sure the Leafs’ defensive awareness had not been anything to write home about but just one more win in that series would’ve changed a whole lot, with game three a missed opportunity due to, yes, in part, multiple ugly goals he gave up.

arrested development if the leafs are not going all in on woll this year they have to trade him , signing stolarz to an extension automatically makes him the #1 guy and having 2 injury prone goalies is a VERY bad idea
