Les Blue Jackets semblent avoir plus de travail à faire cet été

Ils ont beaucoup d’espace de capuchon et un top neuf attaquant qui veut sortir. Cela devrait garder les choses intéressantes pour Columbus. 1. Severson did not play well last season. Down the stretch when we needed points, he was regularly healthy scratched to make room for Christiansen. Severson gambles too much with the puck to stay in the lineup, he’ll try to make the risky pass or the 50/50 pinch and it almost always ends up with a 2-1 the other way and the puck in the CBJ net.

  2. After checking Daily Faceoff, that depth line up is wrong since 1) Voronkov is on the top line with Marchenko in which the fan base refer to it as the Russian line and 2) love him dearly, but if Jenner is playing the top line then something is wrong. (He's at best 2nd line).

As of right now, I think the best route is to hold onto Chinakov for at least one month into the season to try to increase his value. He will be replace by someone from the Monsters, most likely DBB, and maybe swing for rental at the trade deadline if still in the hunt. Next offseason is when they will be aggressive since Coyle, Jenner, and Gudbranson will come off the books who have sizable cap hits and the only RFAs of interest to sign are Fantilli (which his price will go up as the season progress) and Sillinger.

  3. Got to hurt knowing that a healthy Cayden Lindstrom could comfortably move from center to left wing and have an impact in Columbus.Hope he can persevere and become a part of Columbus' future.Going to be a battle in the East for the 2 wildcard spots and probably in the best long term interests of the team to collect a decent draft pick in 26.

  4. CBJ!!! Let’s go jackets! Look out, this team might be sneaky good and one of those “nobody wants to play them” teams come playoff time.

  5. To have that much cap space and not make any significant moves despite being that close to the playoffs the previous season sends mixed messages to the fan base.

  6. One note: Voronkov is a lock for top 6 winger. Chinakov is relegated to the bottom 6, which is part of his gripe with Dean Evason and the reason for his trade request.

  7. chinakhov, severson, malatesta and some picks for rasmus anderson or jordan kyrou is my guess of what could happen

  8. I think Chinakhov sticks around. If he's actually healthy post back surgery and can stay in, he has a spot in the lineup. When he was ready to come back last season, Jackets were gunning for a playoff spot and the team couldn't wait for him to find his feet to risk the potential playoff spot. Totally different circumstances this year. I am a huge Chinny fan, though and a lot of that is hopefulness that he will stick it out with my Jackets because I think his ceiling is sky-high. I am relieved that it seems like we're in a good spot whether he stays or leaves. I hope that he finds his happiness and feels like a legitimate part of the team once he, KJ, and Fantilli start filling the net together.

  9. I understand Don Waddell being as conservative as he was this off-season thus far. That defense corps. would have to show some improvement and consistency.

Potentially losing Chinny is ungood, providing they don't get an NHL-ready forward with good wheels and a good shot. They got the grit, but their inability to score down the stretch (and injuries) nixxed their playoff ambitions. I see them missing the playoffs again. Unless there's a jump in improvement from some guys, I don't think there's enough that makes them that much better than the other Metro opponents

  10. this team could definitely make the playoffs if their goaltending is better. There's a lot of talent on this team. Adding a top 6 forward and they could be a threat to win a round or 2 as well.

  11. With those forwards and that defense/goaltending, I expect a lot of 80s nights. Werenski might also lead the league in ice team next season.

  12. They are hoping they can make the playoffs after just missing out to the Canadians but I don't know if they can make it other teams have gotten close one season and then failed hard the next. Maybe they can be in the hunt till the end.

  13. A lot rests on Jet Greaves and how well he plays this season. We know they can score, they just have to stop the puck. To be fair the team in front of the goaltender can be better defensively as well. Excited for this core young forward group.

  14. Feels like people are putting too much stock into this season on account of last season's surprise run. While DW's tenure has been… debatable so far, it's still a wait and see for the long run.

  15. Severson is bad. I watched in person 16 games of him. Can confirm I've seen parking cones with better defensive instincts.

  16. Jiricek is no big loss. Fabbro was an unreal pickup off the waiver wire. Mateychuk will be a Top 4 D who possibly gets 35-40 points. Jet is the future and height is overrated. Look at Dustin Wolf. Fucking Juuse Saros.

If Elvis falters it's time to let Greaves give it a go. Got nothing to lose. My prediction I'm standing by: Marchenko gets 90 or more points.

  17. I think Chinakhov stays. He’s gotta prove he can stay healthy, up his trade value because right now he isn’t worth much

  18. The Chinakov issue did not just start with Evason. He had also complained when Vincent was coach. Has had injury issues and when it is 2 coaches that he has trouble with seems more of a him problem. I am a CBJ fan and when Chinny is on he is great, just has not been consistent and healthy.

  19. The thing with Chinakhov is that, objectively, if you look across the NHL, there aren’t many teams that would be as good a fit for what he wants and what he brings to a team as is Columbus.

    He wants a fast-paced team?
    Check.
    He wants a top-6 opportunity?
    Check.
He wants a team with good team chemistry?
    Check.
He wants to be somewhere where he can win and be a big part of the team’s success?
    Check.

If he and Evason can figure out the disconnect between them and fix it, everybody woo.

  20. I would love to see Chinakov go to Pittsburgh for either Rust or Rakell, even if CBJ need to sweeten the pot a little. I think Chinakov could benefit from playing time there with Crosby or Malkin and even get to see power play time while Rakell or Rust would round out the top 6 in Columbus quite nicely.

  21. I think we have to move Olivier up to third line. Scored almost 20 goals last year. Move Voronkov up to top 6 forward. Ollie up to the third line. ZAR into the 4th line and call up one of our prospects. Yegor probably needs to go. It doesn't seem like the leadership in Cbus is interested in holding on to players that don't want to play. I think Mateychuk is going to absolutely crush it this year. He's still new to the pros. We only had him for a little bit in Cleveland and he was tops and held it even after he took the road down to Columbus. He's got games under his belt this year so I expect he's going to do really well. In net, I think you have to split Jet and Elvis pretty evenly. Elvis seems to need regular breaks and Jet has had moments of streakiness in Cleveland. I think they both work a lot better with opportunities to sit back for a game. As for cap space… We have to save that money for big Mo. Fantilli needs to get paid. I think that guy is the future of this team.

  22. The cannon, the cannon, the cannon, the cannon. The star thing is lame and has been done to death. Boooooring!!!! THE CANNON!!!!

  23. Voronkov-Monahan-Marchenko
    Jenner-Fantilli-Johnson

Id be shocked if thats not the top 6

  24. Good season by the CBJ last year but so far it’s been an abysmal summer for Waddell. He came out and said he intends to add a top 4 D and a top 6 F and he’s done neither. Overpaid to keep Provorov. Head scratching trade with Colorado. Got a lot of work to do

  25. I sincerely hope they come out and start blowing the doors off other teams like they did at the end of last year. It felt like they leveled up once they had a goalie the rest of the team could trust.
