  1. I’ll believe it when, as Brodie has said before, I see shovels in the ground and an announcement from the commish that the NFL is returning to San Diego.

Kudos to the city of Chula Vista, a city I used to work in. Not surprised with sports complex development there as I know that Olympian archers have trained there for a long time.

  2. I'm curious if the NFL has any regrets moving the Chargers away from San Diego to LA. I get the impression most local Angelenos gravitate towards the Rams (or Raiders for that matter) and the Chargers are just kinda there. SoFi Stadium is owned by Kroenke, would the Chargers be able to get out of whatever lease agreement they have there?

  3. Wow I didn't know the chula vista site was NFL possible too. Don't forget we have the pechenga arena midway rising project led by rams owner Stan Kronke, the stadium could fit and NBA an NHL team! Thank you for showing San Diego some love! Stay Classy, SD!

  4. San Diego, and St. Louis should be the first on expansion lists. Oakland if they can get a private stadium built at the old site. They can demo everything now that the A's and Warriors have left. Seems to be prim spot for development of that kind.

  5. This is stupid. If San Diego had did this in 2017 the Chargers never would have left San Diego in the first place.

  6. Only way I see it happening, is if the stadium is AT LEAST 60k capacity, AND the Chargers decide LA isn't going to work and want to go back to San Diego.

  7. Bodies, I don't know if MLS would put 2 soccer teams in San Diego. We do have San Diego Fútbol Club. This is their inaugural season, and they have been doing great.

  8. Logistically, the NFL can’t expand overseas, or at least shouldn’t. Too many variables in terms of travel to consistently have one team or more based overseas. As far as the San Diego market, it has proven to be a valuable host for an NFL team for 56 years. There’s no chance that they can’t host another franchise again.

  9. This site looks like it was meant to be an Olympic Village. Should have been under construction to benefit from LA28.

  10. Chula Vista is old news. That site was in play when the Chargers had their beggar cap out, along with the godawful convadium proposal. And I suspect the California Coastal Commission will have a few hundred thousand words to say about this and a dozen years to pick at it, say nothing of AQMD or WQMD. Gaylord probably had to move heaven and Earth, but that's just a hotel…In any case, Snapdragon (Jack Murphy's replacement) was designed to be expanded to NFL spec. All of the infrastructure is already there, including a Trolley station. Not so in Chula, and think about sporting events on Fridays and Sundays when Tijuana traffic on the 5 is going and coming from LA. CV is trying to reel in a sperm whale with a fishing pole. Bad idea…

  11. Brodie, I thought that San Diego already had a new stadium? I am aware that the stadium has the soccer team?????
