  1. Fitz is out of capital. He has completely mismanaged your team imo. I know it seems like a little armchair quarterbacking. But other than his top five draft picks that he's got all his other draft picks up failed. Our AHL has no NHL players. He's sitting on one too many defenseman. And he has no top left-winger or third line center. I don't care what you say about Mercer being a third line center. You can't have it. I think the devils are a playoff team but this is not looking good for the future.

  2. The team is in great shape keep everyone I believe Glass can be a 40-45 point guy and Mercer a 60+ guy and Cotter 35 + teams fine don’t ruin it Fitz they added around Mercer 3 20 goal scorers have been added s

  3. Don't understand why people think Dawson Mercer played at explicative worthy levels. He was 2nd unit level on both special teams. He's solid defensively 5-on-5. He can play wing or center. Problem is on the boards and no playmaking but he has good finish. His goal numbers would have been better had we any playmaking in the bottom 6 last season. He plays every game. He's third line level in play and still young. If he improves play making, he could be top-6 or good 3C level player. Maybe add some bulk to improve 50/50 battles. He's still young and could do that. When you look at NHL forwards careers, even the elite ones, they usually don't find top form until mid 20's.

Not untouchable but I'm not all in on dealing him by any stretch.

  4. Fitz is a clown. He has screwed this team over the past couple seasons. If he actually does something good in the upcoming months, I will be the first to admit I am wrong…but my prediction is Fitz does jack shit, and lets Luke walk free.

  5. Jack Hughes needs to be on the wing — he does not have the size and strength to be a top line center.

Mercer has been shuffled around lines which has created a lack of consistency. We need a top six center technically and a 3C — with limited cap space we will more than likely have to Hamilton despite not wanting to do so..

  6. If Mason McTavish is available, I would pack Dawson Mercer's bags for him. He can actually legitimately play center, unlike Dawson, who only fills in as needed on a night to night basis.

  7. I would trade Mercer for the right peice im not saying hes not a good player hes just not a good fit for the devils hes another small foward whos not good along the walls and loses to many battles netfront..but fitz will make him our 3c which makes no sense…

  8. This team has jumped the gun too many times for a young team traded picks and assets like candy…Should have stayed patient like San Jose has done instead they felt it's our time and jumped the gun now low on assets they are looking to trade younger guys who might still hit for older guys…

  9. So the plan is to trade away a solid 3rd line center for a top 6 forward? Then we will be in the market for a 3rd line center. Plus the dollar amounts on Dawson are the SOLE reason why we need to keep him. Like Meier the coaching staff continue to use him in the wrong position. Make a commitment for him to stay at the 3rd line center for the whole season and if he doesn't have a breakout year then trade him then. He's been flopped around from line to line and position and has played on! He's a Swiss army knife of a player that brings so much more than just points. Keep him at the C and watch him shine!
