D-Petey is a future piece of this Canucks core and he is the closest thing to Chris Tanev that we've had since Chris Tanev left. Do NOT trade him.

What's the package though? If it's 1 for 1 then obviously do it but it would be far, far more.
No brainer – McTavish is what we need. Our D is really good without DPetey and we have Mancinni and Willander coming also – we all agree DPetey is the real deal, but again McTavish might be better and he fits our requirements perfectly.
You’re not trading any of the young defenceman.. that would be extremely dumb.
Just go with the lineup you have now, see how you do and make the necessary trades before the trade deadline.

A physical willing to hit defenseman that is smart on how and when he checks, skates well and makes a decent first pass is invaluable for the canucks. They arent big and physical and will need that come playoffs if they are to make them.
