JJ Peterka a échangé à Utah Mammoth | The Jeremy and Joe Show

1. Peterka was close to putting up a point a game in the NHL. He has some defensive deficiencies but he’s clearly the best player in the trade and when you give up the best player in a trade you lose the trade. Given the injury history of the players involved, we also lost the Cozens trade. The Sabres are not going to turn around this mess making moves like this, they could’ve told his agent to take a hike, forced Peterka to play out his contract and likely moved him for a similar return down the line. This just wasn’t a good enough return for a good young player with potential. The future of Sabres hockey is perennially drafting in the top five and missing the playoffs every season. I don’t see this turning around in the future, we keep losing trades and we aren’t developing players. The stock is down…

  2. Unless I’m mistaken about Kesselring, he’s pretty high in Primary Assists. If that’s true, a lot of that could come as a result of that “Shoot all the time” mentality.

Nothing wrong with that if it results in Tips or juicy Rebound Goals, let alone occasional goals for himself.

  3. I'm imaging all the teams that were really interested in a player like him and thinking, "We could have done better. Easily. WTF?"

  4. Loved Peterka, not sure about this but like anything, I will let it play out and see what happens before passing judgement.

  5. Sal you are awesome, your point about the compensation for offer sheeting Peterka is so valid- maybe we should give Adams credit for getting two NHL bodies as compensation

  6. I don’t know anything about Hockey. But i know allot about the NFL, and the one thing i’ve learned is to never trust a radio personality or an “analyst”.

  7. I think the thought process on LH RH D is wrong. The position should prioritize DEFENDING not what side a player should be on to make passes. It should be what side does a player defend the best on.

  8. Gotta love how Adams keeps flip flopping every offseason. Speed 1 year. Size the next. Maybe if he’d stop spending his 1st round picks on small, skilled forwards who aren’t particular fast, some of these issues would solve themselves. 5 years in and I still have no idea what type of team he’s trying to build here.

  9. Trainwreck. They had 100% of the leverage on JJ for 4 years. A 23 year old proven top 6 forward only trending up. They had no reason to rush anything that wasn’t great value. They instead sprung into action to deal him for Utahs 5th best D man and a grinder.

KA again showing why we wanted him gone. And he showed us why he stays. Bc he’s willing to not pay to the salary cap and trade off his best assets to do so.

  10. We haven't been in the playoffs for 14 years. Something had to be done. J.J. is not a franchise type player. He can't carry the team. He will not take the Sabers to the promise land.

  11. Pegula and Kevyn Adams are killing this club, not just the team..the club. If players want out they just say "I don't want to be here" and that seems to be the golden phrase that hypnotizes Adams to trade them asap. He literally said within 48 hours "I feel bad for the fans because the media is putting out a lot of misinformation", well….looks like none of that media was misinformed. The clubs issue sits in the hands of one person, Pegula. Mr.Answerisintheroom. I would bet that if they don't make the playoffs in this coming season, you will have players like Dahlin, Thompson, Tuch, etc wanting out. Then its too late to change GMs

  12. Also what's GMKA point in getting all these young guys just to send them to rochester for a couple years then finally calling them up sucking them letting them leave?? TF is that bs? GMKA has got to gooo!!

edit: I mean sucking as a whole team not individually

  13. We got tougher, better defensively, maybe this improves Power's game, and helps our goalies. Love Peterka's scoring but we already scored well. I'll take this trade.
