I think every team should leave between $1 million to $3 million in cap space to call up people from the ahl incase of injury.
Montembault is so overrated, his numbers aren't THAT good. Thompson getting snubbed already is weird to say the least.

There is no goalie controversy.
Kuemper is older and has been hit-and-miss at times in his career. Thompson doesnt get along with Team Canada’s coaching staff so that’s not happening. Blackwood was good last year but his previous 4 years were all below league average performances.
Binnington has a Cup and stood on his head in the final at 4 Nations. He’s the starter, so he stays. Hill is a Cup winner and is well regarded by the coaching staff. Monty has a rapport with Team Canada, he won gold at the World Championships in 2024 as the starter, and is someone they can trust.
Since none of those guys are supplanting Binner as the starter(at least right now) and both backups are well regarded by Team Canada management, and none of the alternatives are objectively better options, the goalies are unlikely to change.
Love Laferriere, great player and a great deal for both Laf and LA. He's such a good complimentary winger on any line he's put on and there's probably more offense to his game

I am shocked that the Leafs offered anything for Robertson. Robertson has a bad attitude and is not good for team chemistry.
