DK – Where do you envision Mantha's fit this season? I imagine he was brought in as another Beauvillier-type situation. Do you think the plan is to hope he fits with Sid or Geno to boost his output in order to fetch a good return at the deadline?
DK, you are absolutely 💯 👌 correct about Koivunen!!! I hear everyone talk about how well the two were when they came up, how it'll be a big year for McGroarty, how McGroarty should be with Sid, etc etc. Ummm, sorry, he was ok, showed better than the beginning of the year BUT if there is a rookie that actually showed maturity, poised, and has fit in WAAAAAAY more at the NHL level, that's Koivunen!!! He can do all those things you just said and more. He clearly has more to learn, physically grow somewhat, etc but if he first and foremost shoots abit so that threat is there I can definitely see him, hopefully on the 2nd line setting up Geno & Mantra (both love to shoot so perfect fit) end the year with something like 15 goals 37 assists = 52 points with Calder chatter.
I agree DK. For a team to have these young players come in and have complete success is a stretch, but it is a move in the right direction. I'm still excited, because deep down I want the same thing. Lets see what we have first. Thank you DK, Great show
