  1. I would do this trade. As a Ducks fan I don't want to see McTavish go, but if the return is Seider, that decreases the blow. The Ducks have a need for a high end, big, young RD, so there is that. Their left side is stacked but the right side is a little thin. They also have McQueen in the pipeline, so that would soften the blow as well.

  2. 0% chance Seider gets traded. I give him Shai Buium, MBN and maybe a first rounder for McTavish if I'm in Yzerman's shoes.

  3. Yeah Verbeek is highballing it. It’s not gonna be Mo or Kasper or ASP, he’s just inflating the price by being demanding. Steve’s never gonna go with that.

  4. I think the Wings are a lot closer to strong wildcard contention this year than people seem to think. A full year with McLellan, better depth pieces and some more help from Gibson put us in a really good place.
Kasper is going to command attention this year, Edvinsson got that dog in him, Raymond getting snubbed by multiple publications is going to put a nice chip on his shoulder. I think Nate Danielson cracks the C3 spot…
ASP will continue to draw attention with a full season in GR, with a possible appearance here or there in Detroit following the break. I see Postava being a MAJOR dark horse candidate for the current G3 spot, with Augustine in East Lansing for another season. Carter Mazur is hungry and has been working hard, will be trying to make a name for himself at LW4. I think Yzerman is only willing to make a major move for a player like Robertson, and I see a possible trade for a "seasoned" RD2 in the cards. Mo is the archetypical "Lidstrom-esque" Cornerstone defenseman and isn't going anywhere. I see ASP as Brian Rafalski 2.0 or better – Not getting traded.

  5. In a hypothetical trade, Seider is absolutely not going back the other way. Stevie laughs and hangs up the phone in such a way that Verbeek hears it, and jerks the phone away from his ear. As for ASP,, doubtful, but a far likelier outcome. All depends on whether the Ducks want to compete with the Pens for McKenna.

  6. Mctavish for Seider no. Mctsvish for ASP sure. Asp has done precisely zip in the nhl, for all we know he flames out like zadina. But Mo is untouchable.

  7. PR team could be putting this out there so that fans are relieved when ASP goes for McTavish instead of Mo, as opposed to straight anger.

It’s akin to telling your parents that you’re pregnant out of wedlock. Then once they calm down, you tell them actually that’s a lie, but you failed out of college. Now they’re relieved, not angry.

  8. Can't even entertain the terrible trade idea. What's next , Larkin for for a 4th round pick and future considerations?

  9. We already have Nate Danielson who should be equal or better than McTavish. The Wings need to sit this one out.

  10. if McTavish is only a 20 goal scorer, no way. Wait for the prospects. Verbeek wants too much for a 20 goal scorer. So he is young. 20 is only 20. Give me 2 ten goal scorers from GR.

  11. I would not expect them to have Mo in trade talks about Mason MacTavish. He should be completely out of the question when it comes to trade. He is a franchise defenseman. I'm sorry we don't need another center. We have plenty of centers.

  12. The Duck will resign him. All these rumors are just to get him more money. Then yzerman will be criticized for not making a trade that was never going to happen

  13. Steve and Pat will have a deal done on an offer sheet at around $7.5 mill so Ducks get the draft picks then Yzerman will send over like a Copp for future considerations

  14. "I know I'm part of the problem here…." Then why the hell are you even talking about it?!? This is stupid, Lego. Either be realistic or be fantasy, don't try to be both. You've lost a subscriber over this. No way this happens in any multiverse.

  15. Seider gets to a whole other level if they ever give him a real d. partner. His numbers/ stats are best in league on most statistics.
