Mathew's injuries are a very concerning problem for this team. Last season was definitely not the first time that he struggled with a chronic injury all season. I'm not sure why nobody talks about the fact that it is unlikely he will ever be 100%.

Are you kidding me John Tavares was a great captain. Should’ve never been taken away from him again a lot of wrong decisions done by management. This team will never win if they keep making mistakes over and over and over again.

I had an extremely debilitating, nightmare back issue also, doctors and surgeons were at a loss and told me there knew of no treatment or surgery that would alleviate my crippling problem and the longer it went on the worse it would get to the point where I would no longer be able to function and would most likely require 24/7 care and heavy medication.
I found a cure, I kicked her ass out!!! TAH DAHHHH!!!

I have never liked Matthews and really don't like him as captain. If I were the Leafs I would have traded him a few years ago when his value was really high. Now that he is often injured and has had injuries that seem to drag on for long stretched his value if declining. He might be good for marketing and mech, but I don't see him as a leader that has the ability to elevate them toward the cup. I titally disagree that he should have been made capatin sooner. How can you say that and then say we need to see more from him as captain. At this point that means is isn't a good captain ….
Putting up points doesn't make a player a captain … not really an important part of being a captain.
The Leafs are a "great" Regular Season team. They have proven that, the past 9 years! Unfortunately, the team roster lacks mental and physical toughness, during the Playoffs? 2 "key" attributes that Stanley Cup Champions possess!

I am also confused as others who have questioned Matthews "secret" injury. It seems to me that the NHL is the only pro league to lie and hide injuries. In times past before 2008 we knew what has happened to players around the league. However; now a days it seems like the league is hiding embarrassing "injuries" 🤣🤣🤣🤣…. STDs or facial herpes 😅😅😅 it is just stupid to me why such secretive incidents unless otherwise.
Let's face it. Marner is one of the best players in nhl. The media just put him 5 overall in skill once he left the leafs. He got 100 points with the leafs but his 99 point season didn't make him the 5th best player even though he got robbed in the final game against Montreal when his pass went of the defenders shin to Matthew's and he put it in. But to get back to loss of marner is good because now leafs can have three players making 4 million aav to make the middle 6 better but not going to replace marner skill with 4 million dollar players. Could have some players step up but not every night. Cowan is whild card. Again, not going to replace marner.
