  1. Also since the Canucks returned from the all-star break their defence was nothing special. In the final 27 games of the season the Canucks ranked 21st in GA/60 with 2.71, 15th in CA/60 with 55.85, 21st in HDCA/60 with 11.25.

  2. Do you know what’s crazy, I completely forgot about the goaltending!

If healthy, they could be an elite duo

  3. Thank you for actually acknowledging the tendonitis issue with Pettersson that so many have ignored or intentionally hid just to blather on about why "Pettey Sucks". That's been one of the most frustrating things as a Canucks fan to have to keep listening to, when the reason Pettey was struggling last season, and towards the end of the season before, was his knee injury slowed him down, so he didn't have the explosive speed and maneuverability he normally has. There were other factors adding up against Pettey too, such as the massively underperforming wingers he was stuck with for 2 straight seasons, the constantly shifting anyone who started to gel with him off his line, the coach's "Reprogramming" and becoming the primary target of the latest JT Drama Show, with 2 or 3 other Canucks having been run out of town by it in years past all added up, but even with those crap wingers and being the new focal point of JT's abrasive personality, when he was healthy, he was scoring and actually making his 4th line wingers look like 3rd line wingers at least.

  4. I agree….Not having JT making fruity shower comments is worth 15 points easy per season.

  5. We are looking strong in goal and on D. But not as good upfront as Vegas, LA, and Edmonton. Unless we get that elite 2nd line center Then the pacific division is up for grabs for sure.

  6. As long as EP is on that team there will be be drama. Nothing splits a team up more than a guy who doesn’t do the work off the ice. EP hasn’t followed a diet or training regiments whole career. Thats always going to cause his teammates to not like him.

  7. Edmonton fans were trying to say that kane is old and slow, but didnt they run with 2 years of Corey Perry😂

  8. i thought tocchet really squashed the creativity of the higher skilled players. i expect ep40 to improve as well as hoglander and others.

  9. I believe Petey led his draft class in total points though Nico Hischier wasn’t far behind. 80+ points is quite high which people don’t appreciate. I believe most good forwards get about 60+ points. Crosby is around 85 pts so if EP40 can get a point per game he is good. If he is in a line with Boeser and Kane, he can relax on scoring goals and just feed them pucks.

Could you help me understand what value Forbort and Joseph bring as Dmen? I don’t see them get 40+ points like most well regarded Dmen.

  10. Haven't you heard? We're supposed to have no positivity about the future despite having 2 star players just entering their prime. Also you pronounced Elias Pettersson wrong. You pronounced it Eleyeas which is how the defenseman's name is pronounced while the forward is pronounced Eleeas.

  11. petey will be fine, he is a point a game player. the media needs to stfu, they had nothing to talk about last year so they re hashed the drama. year before the drama was there but they were winning. the d looks decent. no dont trade a d for a 2c, then you will want a d for a 2c again. d-petey and willander have great potential.

  12. They were mid, then had one good season where their pdo was like the highest in the league, then were mid again… to me there is one outlier season in the past 5 years… and it’s not when they were mid

2024 was the only season in the past 10 years where they had more than 40 wins, and they had 50. They clearly over performed that year and are not nearly as good as the one outlier suggests

  13. A lot of people in this market who shit on Petey have never had tendonitis, and it shows. It's fucking debilitating. I ended up with tendonitis in my left foot arch and right achilles and i needed crutches. I was limping for months and had to completely cut all activity aside from necessary stuff like walking and being mobile. Now, I'm not in the physical condition of a professional athlete, but I can and do run marathons, so it's not like I'm a super overweight sedentary person. And i had to basically do nothing for months to let it heal. Imagine playing NHL games when the only way to cure tendonitis is rest and time. I don't care if he's paid 11.6 and is a professional athlete, the human body is still the human body. People need to give their heads a serious shake.

  14. I don't
    Miller and Joshua are gone
    Miller was a Beast
    I wouldn't have traded him
Every single Canucks fan that we have talked to regrets the Miller trade
Rutherford shouldn't have went on the Globe&Mail and told the world everything
Ill tell you this much…If Petey doesnt perform again then he's going to get BOO'D every time he touches that puck
    No pressure though lol

  15. I'm still optimistic about the Canucks but I don't trust them until they address the center depth. Chytil is a stretch for 2C but I'd be fine with it if it wasn't for his unfortunate concussion history. Hoping he can put it together and stay healthy but I don't like having the entire 2nd line potentially fall apart for the season with one bad play.

  16. The problem is you will never change the market in Vancouver. Look at the teams who have won the cup in recent years. Half the fanbase don't know the names of all the players on their own roster. The organizations are allowed to function independently, uninfluenced by the "crazy" surrounding a lot of other markets.

  17. Before the Joshua trade I actually didn’t mind their forward core. Obviously 2C would be an issue but they had 4 pairs of solid wingers to help insulate.

Now I’m back on the “they need more size up front” train again unfortunately.

  18. Why can't people after almost 7 years pronounce Petey's first name Elias ( e LEE' as) like HE DOES? After all, the Canucks drafted D-Petey just for you to pronounce Elias the other way (e LYE' as) like he does. Come on guys, there's already enough confusion with 3 Petterssons on the roster now! 😆
