  1. Flames fan here. Loved Monahan, but he was frustrating here with his insistence on playing through so many injuries and making his play so much more ineffective until we had to move him. Then he got his stuff together and I'm glad to see him rebound.

  2. Loved me some Mathew lombardi and Alex Tanguay and Cammaleri growing up which they had longer careers here

Edit: Also Michael Ferland was a blast to watch especially against Vancouver 😉

  3. Hakan Loob!!! Thank you for mentioning him! So underrated. He would crush it in today's NHL. Respect to him for choosing to go back to Sweden.

  4. Iggy was always my favorite player who was never a Penguin, and then we traded for him out of nowhere and I bought the jersey *immediately*. I was over the moon that we picked up Iginla. And then Dan Bylsma did Iggy dirty and that 2013 team underachieved on his inability to utilize HOF players against a real coach in the ECF. And then Iggy went away again. Very short Penguins career, but I'm honored we were a stop for him at all and I wear his jersey happily any time we play another team he played for.

  5. Tell me those RR jerseys aren’t the nicest in the NHL right now! Great list, how can anybody judge your favourite players? Your list is great and accurate, mine has Theo is the top 10 tho.

  6. Tim Hunter…honorable mention, just for his nose and how he always seemed to tag a Red Wing back in the day ( Wings fan here, sorry ).

  7. Lanny McDonald, Hakan Loob and Paul Reinhardt, the Father of future Hall of Famer Sam… With special mention for Jerome Iginla and Mika Kiprosoff… And a memory of the old Calgary Corral

  8. Fantastic list, love it. Of your top-2, I'd say that 12-14 would appear on my own. Which, to my (and probably others) surprise I have not actually done. As a very long time flames fan i kind of feel ashamed by that O_O

I do have to say that Gary Roberts would be at #1. I have an autographed rookie card and it's one of my precious possessions

  9. Gotta give some personal love to the man who shaped the game when it comes to removable nets. Dave Hindmarch 😀

  10. Childhood me has many fond memories of playing Strat-o-Matic hockey with 2 of my friends. I loved playing with the Flames, because you could team Paul Reinhart with Pekka Rautakallio on the power play, and it was almost unstoppable. Table top card games don't stress having PP1 & PP2, so loading up was just so much fun with the early 80's Flames.

  11. How do you feel about Kent Nilsson? I know he had some great seasons in Calgary in the mid 80s. It was one of the names I was hoping would show up. Glad Håkan Loob found a way in there though. He was a hockey icon here in Sweden for a long time. Though he did play for one of the teams I disliked the most, so it was a love/hate relationship. 😛

  12. I'm not sure why Theoren Fleury isn't on the list. I know it's your favorite list but man! The other one on my list who isn't on yours was possibly the best faceoff man ever! Joel Otto.

  13. I'm surprised Kipper would be ranked so low, he's arguably the best goalie the franchise has had and was an easy pick for a fan favorite. He also wasn't that far off from backstopping the team to a Cup…
