  1. There’s something about the sens that is just very solid. Unlike a lot of teams that have noticeable holes and imbalances the sens have (with the possible exception of cozens) every position being filled with a competent player for that role. Not certain the talent is as absurd as say a Florida or Toronto but a very solid roster

  2. Zetterlund is a total wild card. Watching him at the end of the season/playoffs, I think he had some bad puck luck, but this year will show whether his numbers in San Jose were a flash in the pan or if he's the real deal. Fingers crossed.

Hot take: Artem Zub is not a top pair defenceman on a Stanley Cup winner. I love the guy as much as the next Sens fan, but he's only played a full season once in his NHL career: 2021-2022. Last two seasons he's only played 69 and 56 games, respectively, so I'm not sure his body can take the miles required of a first pair guy during a deep playoff push. I'm gonna guess that, between him and Jensen, who was a great acquisition last summer but who just underwent a pretty invasive hip procedure, health issues are a big part of why Staios is stacking the right side. Gotta hedge that risk.

That said, I'm up on Jordan Spence. He's done well with easier minutes behind Doughty and Clarke, and I'd love to see if he can take his game to the next level as a partner with either Sandy or Chabby. High puck movement potential in either case. Otherwise, I think he slots in well with Kleven on the third pair.

  3. A full season with Cozens will be interesting, hopefully he gets back to 30+ goals. Hopefully Norris stays healthy in Buffalo and has a good season as well.

  4. I want these guys to build up from last season, more playoffs means building for the cup run let's go!!!!

  5. If Philadelphia can't be good. And if Buffalo can't drag themselves in, I want good things for Claude Giroux.

  6. I think you're right on for Ottawa's chances this season. They need to make a good start and not dig a hole like they used to. Love to see Toronto drop down and maybe meet the Sens in the playoffs and lose ?!?.

  7. I liked the Spence pick up too and looking forward to seeing what Zetterlund can do with a full season. No November slump this year, please! Go Sens Go!

  8. I'm glad the poll allowed me to choose 3rd and 4th, because I think it's very close between Ottawa and Toronto. I really like Ottawa's additions of Spence and Eller, and I think Merilainen could have a fantastic season as a backup (Ullmark has never played 50 games in a season, and I think Merilainen is good enough that he won't have to next season).

  9. I'm not sure I really trust their management as there's too many question marks that can serve as x factors. Staios didn't do anything to improve the offense and idk if Merilainen can perform lights out again. The way the roster is contructed just leaves them prone to errors due to the lack of offense.

  10. Die hard fan here …. step by step we will go … the maturation process is processing lol … the boys will cook!! SENS ARMY!!

  11. The worst part about those playoff games was that half the fans in attendance were Leafs fans. Was sad to see honestly. Ottawas a team that was really bad for really long and you’d think the fans would wanna hold on to those tickets and they didnt,

  12. The fact that Claude Giorux, Ridley Greig, and Shane Pinto are on the board as bottom 6 is insane. Throw in Michael Amadio. Like damn. Staios is cooking with gas!

Sens have such great offensive depth.

  13. This may be the best defense that Ottawa has had on the blue line in close to 10 years. Haven’t seen these pairings since the Karlsson/Methot days.

Seeing the prospects that can move up if the 3rd line slips has me confident that a further run in the playoffs is inevitable.

  14. A 70 point season for Tkachuk would be disappointing considering he had 74 2 years ago and 83 3 years ago. He was hurt last year and it showed and that was 20 games before the 4 nations.

  15. LOL sens no chance, have fun not making the playoffs again. LOSER TEAM, MARGANIZALED FRANCHISE, TERRIBLE FAN BASE
