The Stone/LTIR thing in their cup year is an out of control false narrative. They were 100% cap compliant in the post season. By that I mean, even if the cap counted in the playoffs, they were under it every night, every game, their entire run. People have been getting this wrong from the jump.

We just won a cup 2 years ago. Watching that run will stick with me forever . Obviously I hope we win it again but for this season I’m mainly just excited to see Eichel and Marner play together. Gonna be so fuckin fun to watch. And people who are convinced that Marner just isn’t a playoff performer and that’s that I wouldn’t be so sure. 1. That was in Toronto playing with the weight that that city and media put on their players along with a nagging “curse” thing in his head about Toronto struggling in playoffs . I suspect he’s gonna play so free this season being in Vegas and where fans just love our team and players and don’t quite shit on players when they struggle as much as Toronto fans do. And 2. Will be playing for Bruce Cassidy this season. I think Cassidy is hands down among the top 3 best coaches in the league. He basically single-handedly turned Eichel into a 2 way forward and honed his defensive abilities . Coming into Vegas Eichel was known in buffalo for being a bit lazy defensively and now a few years later he’s literally among the best defensive forwards in the league . I think he should’ve finished higher in the Selke race this past season than he did honestly . But yea Marner playing for Cassidy I think will really help him. And WATCH OUT if Cassidy gets Marner and Eichel playing well together . Teams gonna be a problem if that happens
Marner will definitely shine in the regular season with how stacked the top 6 is. My only concern is if he can finally turn around his playoff numbers and show up when he is needed. The 4 Nations tournament showed that he can perform under enormous pressure, but he was on a pretty stacked forward roster and was very quiet in every game, except for his first and last. He'll need more consistency imo.
Another big star goes to Vegas. If they win, the meltdown from Toronto will be legendary. I think they win the Presidents, and just have them in the final over Edmonton, Colorado, and Dallas. They lose the final though. 1st in the Pacific with 112-117 points.

They’re not doing anything this year, getting marner while losing petrangelo helps them lose in 6 to edm instead of only 5 games.

Every time a Maple Leaf star that people hate goes elsewhere they end up becoming really successfull and start winning stanley cups. Urinating Tree's video of their failures has pointed out the many times this exact thing has happened and yet people still don't get the hint fans and the team alike. Marner is likely going to thrive in Vegas now that there's no pressure on him, whether that leads to a cup remains to be seen but I hope it does so the obnoxious haters can eat their humble pie. It's never any one player that's responsible for all of the Leaf's issues it's the whole orginization that needs a hard look and until people finally get that the cycle will just keep happening watching them fall apart in the playoffs while their stars go elsewhere and manage to win cup's.
