What the hell is so wrong with just having a tie? One of the many STUPID things that Bettman ushered into a great sport. He runs the all star event like it’s some kind of joke. Here it is. If you want the game to mean something. Have the cup winners play the best players from the entire league in a one game showdown. After the season. Give the champs like 3 weeks to regain some energy, then have at it. That would be worth the time it currently wastes.
