Laffy did absolutely nothing after getting the generous contract; was called out for not checking or back checking as often as K Miller was. At least look like you're trying.
Z appeared to have some type of midlife crisis.
Question for this season and the future: Can Coach Sullivan get any results (any real effort) out of either one? If not, with these two in the Top 6, the season could head south very early.

The contracts that don't age well are usually 8 year deals to a guy who is 30+. One never knows because players take much better care of their bodies in this day & age. Igor said it best "something broke." Indeed it did! Fans don't seem to understand that players are not robots & that emotions do affect behavior. Last year I blamed a lot of the dysfunction on Drury & Laviolette. The coaching was abysmal & couldn't rally the team after Drury started an avalanche. Mika & Laf will be fine this season under Sullivan. I'm adamant that Laf should go back to left wing & Mika stay at center. Hopefully Sullivan will see it that way too. The cap going up won't change things, it will only lead to bigger & bigger contracts for players.
