Many Canes fans expected TvR to be moved at the trade deadline, most likely the deal with Florida, but when Brett Pesce got injured and Vanten still injured they had to hang onto him, they do not believe Nedjelkovic is the goalie of the future they drafted one last season and traded for Forsberg from Chicago, I would expect them to make a push for Lehner or Holtby in Free Agency, they will get Fluery and Foegele signed, Edmonson comes back at the right price, Bean is the enigma not sure where he fits in
Personally, I think that out of Eddy/TVR/Vatanen, the Canes will choose to keep Vatanen. Slavin/Skjei/Gardiner/Fleury/Bean are all LHD, and Vatanen does the best job of balancing out the pairs. I think that Fleury's the most likely of the bunch to be traded. Gards/Skjei are both very good players, and the former is especially underappreciated.
I would love to see JVR and TVR play on the same team. Anyone agree?

I am a HUGE Joel Edmundson fan, but I really doubt Carolina brings him back, mostly because I believe the reason they picked up Skjei was because they knew they couldn't afford Edmundson in the offseason with the good season he's had. For Edmundson tho he can always come to my LA Kings and help with our rebuild 🙂

They just have too many NHL-caliber defensemen and too many that are top-4 caliber. There’ll definitely be some shopping in the off-season, maybe for a solid goalie or some picks
I feel like the canes have a very good young core. But for them to get the chance to make a serious run for the cup they need at least 1 more addition for a top 6 forward
Wanna know what I think, I think I just watched a dude talk the canes lineup with a couple of felines slinking around in the background. As soon as I saw them I thought, what the hell does this guy know about hockey? But you did ok. Only one comment on the roster, Niederreiter would be a keeper if he’d bring more sandpaper to the line up. Other than that I can live with or without.

Canes are overloaded on D so Edmundson, Vatanan and van Reimsdyk are all gone. You say Eddie played well, but he was a disappointment for his salary and didn't add much toughness. Coming back they have Slavin, Pesce, Hamilton, Skjei, Gardiner…all under contract. They will resign much improved and bargain price Fleury. Unless one of those 3 will take a big salary cut, they are all out.
The buzz and love for the Canes has come back to Raleigh, and it has been amazing to see. Having been a fan since 01-02 when I was a kid, I started college here at NC State in '15. As someone who does without a lot of things so I can buy season tix to my favorite sports team, it has been amazing to watch the team go from being on life support in both talent and attendance, to now contending with some of the top teams in the NHL. The prospects look good (Calder Champs!), we finally have players who can make a difference in games like a Svech, or an Aho/Teravainen, and we have an outstanding team personnel from the top down. Beyond thankful that this team has been saved and we finally can see a bright future ahead! Go Canes!

Big Advantage for Carolina people don’t realize we have such a good core group of players all these contracts are movable we are in very flexible position to move players! For me Edmundson needs to stay must I would trade Dzingel he’s the guy I’d move doesn’t fit in Carolina ply style, when Geekie comes in and produced more and showed me more, speaks volumes good player dzingel just doesn’t fit our play, Ned was good minus for one game at NHL he’s a backup next year, I don’t see bean play in our log jam defence I’d move him for another forward to replace Dzingel
Goal tending, as it has for over a decade, scares me. Seeing too much inconsistent play from both goalies mentioned. Is Ned ready for the big time? His NHL debut games looked good (for the most part) but overall he did not light the world on fire with his overall NHL season performance. If we can somehow get solid consistent goal tending the Canes could be a cup contender.
Even as a Hawks fan, I follow the Canes closely down here and they are my fav East team. I saw them win it in 2006 despite the naysayers. Although they haven’t been playoff regulars in the past 14 years, it has been fun watching them slay some of the East’s Goliaths the times they have went, especially last season. Would love to see them hoist Lord Stanley again. This franchise has made some serious changes for the better. Anything is possible!
