Well 2 finals losses in a row. Almost doesnt cut it. The mistakes this team makes with all the lost young blood in the cupboards.

Everyone that says “Connor isn’t gonna sign!”; give your head a smack. He will sign even if he decides to go to a different team. Are you really that daft to think 1. Connor is gonna screw over this team by making sure they get nothing for him? 2. That the Oilers won’t do exactly what Toronto did with Marner which is a sign and trade?
Connor will not screw over his friends or the team by simply walking away and the Oilers simply aren’t gonna let their best asset disappear for nothing. Whether he stays in Edmonton or not remains to be seen but this notion of him not signing is ridiculous.
I think the real delay is the Kaprizov situation as Connor is not gonna sign for less than him be it by amount or term. I think if the Wild had got this done, Connor would be done as well

I’m pretty sure Ike will start in the AHL. NCAA is not the level that the bigs are at. Not to say that he won’t be a good player but he will need time to grow. But I could be wrong

11 mins , I always say this… The team needs like two transmissions to change gears box depending on who's in net. The team has to know how to be according too goalie. Without giving away too much intelligence the Defense coordinator needs to see where most of the Goals scored against 74 are then adjust defensively to keep him defending in a position of power. While reducing the percentage for the opponents.
If i was Bowman if by Nov 1st Connor hasn't signed I'd ask Connor to give us the final yey/ney on Nov 15th ie- a specific deadline well in advance of Trade Deadline so that if ney he can be dealt for maximum return on actual Trade Deadline (and bundled with Nurse). Yes, he'd have to waive his NMC, but he'd most certainly do it as one last favor even though he owes the team nothing and could simply play out the whole year and walk away for nothing if he prefers making one last cup shot with his original team (and… handicapping them long-term)

Get some balls I see McDavid's attitude which is a downer for a team trying to win and, maybe his ball pucks are held by someone other than himself , I'm not liking what I'm seeing , they made finals twice , maybe fans need transparency maybe think about a trade and build around Draisaitl if McDavid doesn't come out with what he wants, enough is enough, he wasn't shining in the finals, not a one mans team…..I'm respecting Draisaitl more and more as a player and a person. McDavid knows he has to leave money on the table for the Oilers to win. He wants to see how that money will be spent. Look how Holland wasted all of LAs cap space this summer. He needs to see the moving pieces come together before committing
Also he was not the best player on the team last year. He is focused this year to up his game and prove he is the best player. Once he is at the top of the leader boards he will sign in good spirits. The oilers paying him everything he wants is not what he wants. He wants to be paid what he is worth on merit not reputation.
