  1. Every second from my comment until the Flames get the trade they want for Rass….is precarious. If he twists his ankle on the way down the stairs to get his morning coffee tomorrow and suffers a high ankle sprain that shelves him for 4 months, or he blocks a shot in the first 10 seconds of the first game of the season that shatters his orbital bone and he is done for 6 months….the Flames get ZERO for him. He was 4th in blocked shots in a down year for him last yr. This year he is playing for a new contract, the olympics, and redemption. This man is going to face more vulcanized rubber than Wolf……hanging on for the “best” trade might result in no trade at all. Very, very risky business. We’re banking on him not suffering a season ending injury basically.

  2. We need big tough physical dmen. Conroy will get us at least one big body to protect Wolf. Anderson for a big physical dman with a 1st and 3rd. I love a Robertson trade but nah we already have a bunch of good prospects coming up

  3. I think Dallas is trying to resign Robertson, but they struggle with cap space. Since they bought Rantanen, trading for Anderson is not cheap. Calgary won't get a fair deal, yet the fans want Robertson here.

  4. Dallas will only trade Robertson to reset their cap. So, Andersson needing to get a 8 year contract means he’s not going to Dallas.

  5. Gotta remember too, a robertson deal would probably need an extension on both rasmus and Jason. Would robertson want to play in Calgary long term? Not saying he would or wouldn't, the question needs to be asked though. Robertson is also 26, and while that is definitely not as old as Rasmus, there's a legitimate chance that roberston could be experiencing age related decline by the time Calgary is competitive. It's good rasmus says he isn't trying to handcuff the team, but the deal would have to make sense and I think there could be a few pretty serious hang ups that might make the deal tough to make for both sides.

  6. Rasmus can't handcuff Conroy, he doesn't have trade protection.

Yes, he can reduce the return Calgary gets by not participating in a sign and trade. But Calgary can also get a decent haul by selling Rasmus as a rental.

He doesn't have the leverage and he knows it.
