Thought Declan Chisholm was an underrated acquisition. He has great puck-carrying ability, makes crisp outlet passes and is very reliable during zone exits. And he did have 12 points, including 2 goals, while averaging about 17 minutes per game last season.
If the intent here is to free up cap space for some other big signing or trade, then I could see them move on from TVR and Milano, with Chisholm sliding in as a TVR replacement on the third pair. If Sourdif substitutes Frank's spot on the 4th line and one of Miro/Lappy/Cristall/Protas 2.0 substitutes Milano, then they should have about 12,5 million in cap space, which they should be able to spend in full. The contracts of Ovechkin and Carlson coming off the books the year after, along with another increase to the cap, will be more than enough to resign CMM, Fehervary and Duhaime, as well as adding something nice and shiny on the back end.

Dahlqvist is a big defenseman and great hitter his strengths are on the defensive side of the puck he has been in my favorite SHL team Brynäs organisation for years 👍🏻
It's going to be a completely different brand of Washington Capitals hockey after 2025 unless they find another Ovechkin or Bondra in the draft, and even then, the game has changed. I've been watching the Capitals since 1974 so I'm used to change. The Ovechkin era was the most stable the team has ever been. I'm not holding my breath expecting that level of consistency in the future. They seem to be constructing a roster that can physically beat the hell out of other teams for 84 games.

I like the size! I'm hoping we can see a future physical and aggressive team with that size! PLD, Pro, Willy, and maybe Little Bro Pro Ilya? and now Lynden? That is BIG. I like it, skill and size. Now I'm hoping the D can get a little more depth, faster, more physical as well. Would like to see some more size on the backend, but we will see….
