If Cowan os a healthy scratch, does that go against his 9 game limit? If so, I would expect him to stay in the NHL. If he doesn't stay, I don't understand why bring him as healthy scratch because you want to conserve the 9 game limit for If necessary.

these lines make perfect sense ……they can't afford to lose games early so they need some familiarity from last years roster….. All the lines have pairs from last year……thats how Berubay likes to work ……. too many new lines to start the season could take a while to workout …..That's why Cowan's not playing they will bring Cowen in when the team stabilizes then they can start moving some pieces around find chemistry…. please let me know what you think about my theory
