  1. The ESPN+ thing is absolutely happening. I was getting 'End of Period' text updates through the NHL app the other day while still having almost 4 minutes of time left in the period I was watching "live". It's absolutely insane. We can't escape it. Every micro-second of our lives is for sale. It's exactly the way you lose subscribers.

  2. Is there an explanation for the set changes? I was a fan of the comfy chairs and the late night talk show feel of the show.

  3. Anybody thats been to a live hockey game knows the ad breaks are longer than the 30 seconds at the arena. Add to that how its always out of sync when it returns, and i have to exit and reenter the live feed to fix it.

  4. shawn being on the side of ESPN "accidentally" having long ads is sorta weird. the same sort of forced ads happened in an Assassin's Creed game in 2023 where players were met with a pop-up of game discounts, but Ubisoft just said "oops sorry technical errors!"

the gamers were just more pissed about it and went to social media to call them out which forced the "technical error" excuse from Ubisoft thus taking down the ad. really, they were just testing to see how far they can go with in game ads. ESPN is definitely stress testing this to see how far they can go.

  5. You guys don’t spend enough time in local rinks. Going for a piss in the ice drains in the Zamboni room at the local rink is a right of passage.

  6. I completely missed the Henrique goal last night in the Edmonton game just by taking the casting from the tv back to my phone, lost like 2 minutes of GAME time

  7. AL is still the goat, if pissing in non designated areas is a crime then arrest me. wings octopus mascot Al is named after him

  8. Streaming has been doing this for years. If you have live activities on your phone I have gotten the goal/game notifications WELL before it happens on whatever app I’m watching the game on. It is not a unique ESPN problem. I side with Shawn, this is just gross ineptitude
