  1. Goes to show not to listen too much to scouting reports and projected rankings. They said Kindel would need 3-4 years.
Doesn't seem like Kindel needs 1.

  2. Even with Mantha having a couple goals in the last few games I still don’t know how I feel about him on that 2nd line. I don’t think he has been great except in short spurts. I wouldn’t mind seeing someone else on that line at some point like Rust, Rakell, McGroarty, Avery Hayes etc…Maybe even give Hallander a shot with Geno.

  3. Who knew a game with Jarry and Ned and two teams that can’t play in their own end would turn into a goaltending duel? lol

  4. I still think the conversation around Kindel is being framed the wrong way. He was drafted to be a future 2C/1C and will playing 70ish games as the 3C this year hurt his offensive development is a real question that I don’t think people are asking. Mcgroarty was a top 12 forward out of camp last year but was sent down explicitly to make sure they didn’t ruin his offensive upside playing 3rd and 4th line minutes with subpar linemates.

  5. Sitting the rookies out for a few games makes you show how much we miss when they are out of the lineup. Sure the points aren’t dropping with kindel yet. But we desperately need constant third line pressure that he is driving when he plays

  6. I didn’t see this lvl of hockey coming from Justin either after looking at his last 2 nhl teams I know when he played here and then on north bay for the battalions in the OHL he was real hot so I’m happy he’s got the confidence and is playing very well looks great on him! Also the penalty streak keeps going for Crosby hahaha. Watching how great the 2 young guys are doing is great to see as well kindle plays some very smart hockey it’s great to watch him wish he would of scored that goal for his second of the year

  7. Kindel needs to stay up idc if you play him 40/82 games.. the kid belongs up here with his own personal growth when it comes to the skating ability.. the defensive iq.. and the way he just flows in the offensive zone with the puck. Him and brunicke in the O zone against the sharks was an amazing sight to see

  8. Really have been impressed with the start of the season so far.

When it comes to Kindel and Brunicke, Brunicke I absolutely think he is definitely staying because one he’s playing defense ,which the Penguins are pretty thin at and two, sending him back to his WHL team pretty much makes no sense because they aren’t very good.

Kindel, it’s a coin flip on him. If I had to make a decision right now, I think he stays. So far in the games that he has played, he hasn’t looked at a place at all to me. I see the hockey IQ that everyone has been talking about. He just doesn’t look out of place.

  9. Kindel between RR and Hallander, RM with Sid and Rust, if Mantha slows VK on 2nd line with JB and Geno,
if Geno goes down Kindel between JB and Mantha

  10. When was the last time the Pens had a rookie, or young prospect join the team who was able to drive his own line? First one, in a long time, who wasn't riding sidecar to Sid or Geno.

  11. Unless people are traded, I don't think that we're going to see any changes to the top six when McGroarty, and others, come back. More likely, we'll see the third and fourth lines getting more 5v5 ice time.

  12. With all of the teams losing people to IR and LTIR, is Kyle Dubas salivating, looking to make some trades?

  13. I dont see why we should send the rookies down. Its a gamble on whether you could ruin a young player by giving them bad NHL exp. Sid is getting closer to that 100 min penalty mark. Last ewww Bluejays I understand not wanting to cheer on Pirates at least pick better team

  14. I'd be surprised if they didn't let Silovs play against his former team. Then have Jarry play against Florida.
