It feels good regardless but would feel a little better to get some revenge lol
i was a catcher in baseball , and ive been a goalie all my life , but in road hockey no way i was in net after i ruined my legs on the pavement lol bloody bad , in school on the gym floor was ok ,but even then id like to play out alot cause im fast and can snipe , and im kida like zach aswell i catch left throw right golf right but shoot left write with my right hand ,i actually had to play a game when i was yonng silly sided catch right stick in left hand cause our coach brought the wrong blocker and catcher lol they were the same gear white dr brand was an interesting game lol that being said i can catch right aswell but cant throw left lol and yea growing up if i put on player skates i was faster then anyone on the tem cause legs were so strong from luging around my pads which in those days when they got wet were heavy as hell ,the pads i have now are still kinda like that and i was in a tourny in whitehorse yukon had to play 10 games in 3 days double loss tourny lose twice ur out we lost the 2nd game so had to play 8 straight to the finals we did we won and i won top goalie Crazy weekend especially the 23 hour drive there and playing at 7;30 am when we got there at 7am lol still amazing my gloves held together they were just soaked and no time to dry em out lol cost me a goal cause of it in the final game lol
I agree with Zach in that the President's trophy is more about exhaustion than any type of curse. I'm drawing the parallels to the 2001 Avs where they lost a heartbreaking series in the previous playoffs, came into that season determined to have home ice and dominated through the whole season. plus both teams had/have a 40 y/o defenseman looking for a Cup to round out a HOF career.
When LOC comes back it (unfortunately) has to be Brindley who goes down. I am pretty sure that Bardakov has a KHL out in his contract that he might exercise and Brindley is waiver exempt. plus side is that he'd get all the reps in Loveland, top line, top PK, and top PP.
I think the most likely to be traded might be Malinski. As for Girard re-signing with the Avs, it will depend a lot on what that Makar deal ends up looking like. The main reason you don't trade either of those guys this season tho is that with that top 6 healthy you have 6 guys that you have full confidence in to play 20+ mins per night in any situation.

End result feels the same no matter who you play if you win it all but journey would be more enjoyable if it includes beating Dallas
There's no President's trophy curse. The president's trophy winner is still statistically the most likely team to win the cup. The problem is how close it is at the top and when you combine the likelihoods for teams 2-16 it's more likely the president's trophy winner won't win the cup.
I never understand the Girard trade talk. They have to replace him if they move him, and a second pair d is going to cost more than that if you upgrade. A side grade wont be cheaper. If Girard is gone that is now the biggest hole, and they are spending more assets on that. Unless there is a more pressing issue that pops up he isnt going anywhere this year
Trade? I like the F group, but if a move had to be made, I could see Nate's training friend Brayden Schenn. Maybe Keifer Sherwood, now that he's embraced a bottom six role & is a Hit machine. On D, I could see a LH like Oleksiak

I'm numb to losing to dallas at this point in my life as an avs fan.. atleast twice we lost conference finals to them near the end of the 90s.. and now the same story replays.. if we do face them in the playoffs.. ill be rooting for them to finally beat Dallas

Real response: I don't care who they play if the Cup is lifted in the end. It would not feel like they 'cheated' if they don't play Dallas, since they have no control over who the opponent is. It would just be extra sweet to knock Dallas out.

Not necessarily. What's imperative is first make the playoffs. Then they'll need to win 4 consecutive series, and probably 2 of those will be against division rivals… No Stanley Cup winner thinks "We didn't play against a certain team in the playoffs, so our championship doesn't matter."

Avs 01 exist and winning the trophy AFTER the cup I think negates the curse, this team won the trophy then won the cup so now the trophy should be fine. It's a mental thing, it truly is.

I know this team is a playoff team but I am refusing to hope for a long run in them. I worry this team will be too gassed to make a big run as everyone is not even talking about the Olympics this season and 5 of our guys playing for their home teams. Thats a lot of extra hockey for some of our top guys with no real downtime so unless this team can rely on our bottom 6 to really be consistent and score, I can’t see this team going to far in the post season this year. Hope I’m wrong and this team will exceed my expectations but I’m tempering any excitement for now and will wait until after trade deadline and the Olympics to see if this team is made of sterner stuff to go on a long run or not.
