In losing stretches like this I always want a quick turn around into a 5-6 game winning streak just to shut the cancerous critiques of this hockey team…"they're too old too young, too talentless, too uninspired, too this, too that, too blah blah bah. People who know hockey or think they know hockey perpetually break down team play in absolute materialist ways. It is said that what makes a winning team IS WINNING!!!….a player's ability is not just how they are playing at any given moment but what their potential is. Guys your observations of what this team is and what it can be are as flawed as the way the team is playing now. Reserve the coffins and burials at the the end of the season if need be and own up to future success if and when it happens. Ive been watch the Leafs since 1970 and have seen it all. The elipical yapping in the media never helped. STFU with the overt negativity until the season be done. Thanks.

Doug explained it and 20 minutes later they forgot. It easy to SAY the Oilers need to upgrade goaltending but at this time of the season trades are hard to come by. Besides, the last time the Oilers buckled and made a swing at a goalie they ended up with Campbell. They're stuck with what they have until January probably.
I am listening to this discussion and if this is going to be a experimental year (for lack of a better word) then why not let Cowan play with Mathews all year.

The problem they drafted players and traded for guys that have more offensive skill set. You can teach defense but if your a player that has talent and your being told not to utilize yr skill and play against your skillset it becomes a major problem. At the end of the day you can't change a guy to play how you want them to play. Especially when guys have a contract to live up to. This team was build around offensive. Slowly has diminished over the years starting with the loss of Kadri. The team needs a more offensive style . Aggressive forcheck , not passive forcheck like how they play. Quick transitions…puck cycling and very strong net presence. I do not see that. A passive defensive style does not suit this teams make up.
There won't be any repeat of the 2019 Cup Champion Blues in Toronto. Leaf players are not willing to play proper defence. Nylander will never back check in the corners, his game is to be as nonchalant as possible.
God bless Pang, and curse the Blues for letting him go. He was willing to stay for 300k but they let him go to Chicago for 600k. Blues can wallow in their sadness
