Arthur Staple de Hockey Night à New York se joint à l’émission pour The All 32. Il plongera dans les Islanders de New York et où ils se situent dans une Conférence de l’Est qui ne compte qu’une seule équipe en dessous d’un pourcentage de 0,500 points. 1. The kid is good but wasting his talent with the Islanders. Definitely pretenders, nothing's changed since 1985.

  2. schaefer will be a top 10 islander of all time by year 6-7, and top 3 if he spends his career there

  3. really enjoyed and appreciated this NYI talk. they are a team that doesn;t get a lot of attention so it's nice to see what they are up to given they are in the wildcard talk right now.

i'm impressed given NYI looked like a soup kitchen poverty offence on paper prior to the start of the season. not sure if they can actually make the p-off's but would like to see them make a go of it. schaefer, he's def a serious contender in that calder trophy talk. would love to see him make team canada but that's gonna be a tall task.

  4. It's the Islander's… Jeez, the kid could end up a fine pony stranded on Sable Island after the Andria Gale goes down again…. If they get back this year and set the market… they have confronted there nemesis… It's awesome; kinda like a Moby Dick story now where we are finally going to see the white whale: The Stanley Cup! And it looks to be those Hurricanes setting up for another 'Perfect Storm'. Baten down the hatches for the Rubber match; barring injuries or the misfortune of the sea we the fans will see the return to the days of plenty..

  5. Ranger fan Staple a little desperate selling New York Islanders. Still very bitter he lost out on Zipay's job to Stevenson then at the jockstrap to Carpinello, then that deadbeat blogger site dropped him from the five shills who sell Knicks hockey now. Lazarus is good at doing what Dolan's media orders, nothing else. Resume first.

  6. Why won't it last Arthur? Devils and Isles are playing more consistant than MSG is. I do hope all three make the playoffs and this maybe the rare year all teams are good to great. The NY Rangers defense has improved greatly under Sullivan, had he coached them a a couple to a few years ago they'd have had a better shot. Defense ultumately wins.

  7. Heineman has absolutely shocked me. Schaefer playing at an elite caliber as a 1st overall pick is amazing but Heineman also has some serious untapped yet in the NHL talent

  8. # 48 didn’t just revitalize the team, he revitalized the fan base with the exception of those that swore #48 wouldn’t be good and that Misa or Hagens shoudve been the pick ! Well, they were wrong !

  9. I never had ANY DOUBT that Schaefer should be the pick AND with the moves Darche has made, they will be an improved team.

  10. How can Staple not mention Holmstrom and Heineman? Emil is a scoring beast and Simon a defensive playmaker. Both give opponents lots of problems to solve. Drouin has also been a factor, and Lee is still very effective. If Ritchee, Tsyplakov and Shabanov get going, this team is a real threat.

  11. I am just concerned that Schaefer is taking in too many minutes. He's only 18 and is playing some 25 minutes per game, near the most in the league, and he is not used to playing so many minutes in a season that is 9 months long/82 games. Roy needs to take the foot off the gas a bit with the kid or he will get injured or burned out. He took a bad hit the other night against his hip, I just don't want to see him hurt a knee or shoulder as he is still a scrawny teenager and over the course of the season will be targeted game after game.

  12. My issue with Staple is he has no issue being 100% honest about Islanders issues but maintains some level of Ranger fan delusion when covering the Rangers

  13. I know I’m biased, and certainly NJ is a star in the Metro – but if you really look at the Islanders top 9, their mix of new talent and vet presence is a stronger setup. As for coaching, and I’ve said it 100 times, get Jon Cooper up to LI and that match with get them a cup. Keep the assistant coaches at present.

  14. They are contenders. Got smashed by the Avs but everyone gets smashed by the Avs. The Islanders could get a playoff spot for sure.

  15. I think that any improvement in how the finish this season is just icing on the cake. It reminds me a lot of the first Lou/Barry year. We hoped for stabilization of the team and go from there, but we got more than we expected which is kind of what we have here.

  16. I think we saw the best team in Denver Sunday Night. Ironically Nelson initiated the play on the go ahead goal. Team has great depth.
