The problem with the Leafs as far as trades go is they don't have anything to trade with unless it's someone off the roster and other teams are easily able to scoup anything worthwhile the Leafs may be interested in.
Dubas and Shanahan have done serious long term damage to this team through trading all their picks and prospects for rentals that they knew they couldn't resign and they never made a big enough difference.
