HatsOff to Stu Skinner. Hometown boy, went fr ECHL to AHL to NHL. The gig was to backup the big UFA signing J Campbell. 20 games in and JC fell flat on face. Stu handed keys to a team with Cup or Bust pov, as a near NHL rookie. Hometown kid under the most difficult of circumstances, goalies 'em to the SC Final, twice. One more Win a couple yrs ago and he's a SC Champion, a Hometown Hero, 1 more flippin Win ! ! ! – but nope, lost and it was all his fault or something. It's all been all his fault ever since it seems, forever now just a Loser in Edm. A lot of Oil fans made pathetic personal statements about Stu, also about his ability as an NHL goaltender, you all suck. For me, it's HatsOff to Stu Skinner. Win a Cup somewhere Stu, and stick it to 'em all.
Being good is one thing, being good with the pressure is different
The goalie swap is interesting, and Jarry could be a slightly better than Skinner. I think the main question is will Stastney be better than Kulak? Cause as much as people point at the net minder as the Oilers problems, and it’s certainly one. It’s not the only problem, and the other is the Oilers defensive core.
I’ll give Edmonton props for at least taking a swing at it. I just don’t think it’s one that is going to make that big of a difference.

This is a fantastic trade. They trade away Skinner and Kulak for an upgrade in jarry. Jarry been great Skinner sucks and then they also replaced kulak with Spencer from Nashville to upgrades for free pretty much great deal.

The oilers got fleeced. If they didn’t want Skinner, they could have waited until the season ended and let him walk. Instead they got Jack Campbell ahem mediocre Tristan Jarry and his 5.2 million million for 2 more years after this year. Dubas won this trade by getting rid of a terrible contract and didn’t retain salary
Pretty sure getting rid of Bouchard would improve the goal tender
